⚠️Long Chapter⚠️

POV: CHANGE

AT FIRST, SHE didn't want to open the envelope. I mean why should she? I lost my temper and broke something she gave me.

I knew I shouldn't have, I instantly regretted it as soon as I did it. When my mother told me she was trying to get in contact with Marcus I lost it. I don't know what I'd do if anything were to happen to her.

The hours passed by and after much of my constant apologies and begging, Royal allowed me to spend the night in her room. Every time she'd try to roll away or move, I would pull her body closer to mine, feeling her warmth radiate off her body.

As I repositioned myself to lay on her stomach, I could tell she was still awake. Her fingers anxiously twirled in my hair, telling me that she had something she wanted to say but refrained from doing so. I kept quiet as to not pressure her.

Whatever it was, she would tell me when she's ready.

"Prince?" Her voice asked. I tiredly hummed in response as my hand lazily rubbed intricate shapes on her thigh. "Get up, I wanna see what's in the envelope."

After no response from me, she tried pushing me off her body. Instead of getting off of her, I grabbed her thighs and wrapped her legs around me.

"Prince." She groaned as my head laid on her chest. I smirked at the way she dragged out my name, pulling my body up to hover over her body.

"Fine but open it over here. I want to see your reaction." I say as I roll off her. As I laid on my back, my eyes watching her every movement, she got off the bed and grabbed the letter.

"It's definitely not a dog." She said jokingly as she shook it by her ear. I rolled my eyes and patted my lap, signaling for her to take a seat on me.

She hesitantly did so, straddling my lap as my hands held onto her waist. She stared down at me before looking back at the envelope.

"Open it."

Without another word, she slid her finger under the edge of the envelope's flap before ripping it, messily opening it before pulling out the paper it held.

"..what?" She mumbled as she read the paper, making me sit up to see her reaction clearly. She lowered the paper as she glanced at me. "What is this?"

"Do you not like it?" I ask, suddenly aware that I might've stepped over a boundary.

"I just thought that since it's been in your family for generations and that you were on the verge of getting evicted, I could put the house under my name. That way you could keep it." I tried to explain as I looked at her. Her eyes began to water and mine widened.

"I can get you something else," I try to quickly say, not wanting to see her shed anymore tears because of me.

"I love it!" She yelped as she launched herself at me. Her arms snaked around my neck as she pulled me into a hug, the force of her body making mine fall back. "I love it so much!"

"Then why are you crying?" I asked as she pulled away, wiping one of the stray tears from her delicate eyes.

"These are happy tears idiot," She said as she smiled at me. She sat up and reexamined the paper. "This is amazing. How did you know?"
