"YOU LOOK WELL, Royal." Alice converses.

I just stare at her. I had her facial features memorized, all the way down to the last freckle, but it was like seeing someone completely new.

It's been awhile since I've seen her.

"Thank you." I finally managed to voice. My brows furrowed further as I walked from Malakai's side and closer to her. "Alice, what are you doing here?"

"Oh, I came to speak with my son. He's requested a meeting with me." She responded. I nodded my head, staring at her. "I hold no hard feelings, and I hope you don't either?"

Her tone sounded desperate and it sounded strange coming from her mouth.

"No, Alice. I shouldn't have exiled you, it wasn't my place to." I reply, her eyes lighting up at my words.

"No, no, you did the right thing. I should of told my son what I did when I did it. He was living the past years believing that Noelle left him because she didn't love him," Alice ranted. "He shouldn't have had to go through that."

I glance at Malakai, the mention of his late cousin causing his interest to be peaked; his eyes trained on the two of us.

"Well, I'm off now. I hope to see you more?" She questions, looking at me hopefully. "I miss spending time with you, Royal."

"Of course." I smile, the action of my lips feeling false. She accepted it, though, with a wide smile of her own and pulled me into a hug.

"You are so good for our family, for my son." She whispered lowly as my arms slowly wrapped around her. Just before she pulled away she said one last thing. "Please, take good care of him."

I gave her an odd look once she pulled away, noting the teary eyed look she was giving me. Before I could say anything, or ask why she said that, she took a step back.

"I'll see you soon." She says, waving goodbye and not sparing a single look to Malakai as she made her way down the hall.

By the lack of attention she gave him, I'd be surprised if she knew he was even here.

A few moments passed as I stood there, slightly flabbergasted at seeing her again. Malakai soon stood beside me once more, looking down the hall to where I was staring, to where Alice had ventured down.

"What was that about?" He mumbled curiously. I looked to him, gave him a smile and shook my head.

"Nothing."

"She's back!" A shout interrupted the silence of the living room, a panting Aidan startling Junior and I.

The two of us stared at the blond before Junior looked away, focusing back on the TV.

Aidan collected himself, realizing he would need to elaborate. He straightened the suit he always seemed to wear and nonchalantly walked closer towards me.

"Ms. Queen, can I speak with you for a moment, please? It won't take too long." Aidan queries professionally. I look up at him with a humor filled smirk and gently move Junior, who was laying on my chest.
