MY HEAD WAS pounding.

The last thing I remembered was sitting, then falling asleep. I must have had a really bad headache if it resulted in me slipping into a dreamless state.

The only thing I saw was darkness, which was oddly calming.

I felt my body laid on a plush mattress, soft pillows, and smooth blankets around me. I slowed my breathing as I heard something creak.

"Capo, non-dovresti lavorare?" Someone argued as they walked into the room. (Translation: Boss, shouldn't you be working?)

I remained still, not wanting to have to face any new people here. I felt a presence tower over me, most likely staring down at me.

"La transazione con I russi non può aperture." The same voice spoke. Their voice seemed stressed and on edge. (Translation: The transaction with the Russians can't wait.)

"Tu e vattene adesso."A new voice spoke. This voice came from above me, and it being familiar, I concluded it was Junior's father. (Translation: You can leave now.)

"Che dire-" The smaller voice tried to speak but was cut off by the dominant one. (Translation: What about-)

"Non stavo chiedendo." He stated. I heard the other man let out a quick sigh followed by the sound of the door opening and closing again. (Translation: I wasn't asking.)

After what seemed like forever, he spoke up.

"What's wrong with you." He mused, his voice its usual harsh tone.

I remained silent. I hear him whisper something under his breath before I hear a loud scraping noise. It came to a stop, as did everything else in the room as I felt the mattress by my head dip and his face hovering next to mine.

"I know you're awake." He suddenly whispers in my ear. His cool breath fanned against my neck, making me subconsciously shiver.

"Don't keep me waiting." He says as he learned back. "I'm not a patient man."

Another deafening silence envelopes the room as I slowly opened my eyelids. I was met with a colorless ceiling and heavy breathing.

I turned my head to the side, watching as he closely examined me. Our eyes met for a brief moment before I looked around the room.

I sat up as he began speaking again.

"I'll ask again, what's wrong with you?" He interrogated.

"N-nothing," I mutter as I thrust the blankets back. His arms rested on the armrest of the wooden chair he was sitting in. He arched his elbow, bringing his hand up to support his head.

"You're lying." He started. "I don't like liars."

I lowered my eyes down to my lap, afraid to see the look on his face.

What was I supposed to tell him? That I'm not mentally stable? That I have issues because I'm never able to forget anything in my life?

As I look up at him, my eyes suddenly started to burn. I rapidly blink my eyes, making him look at me like I'm crazy.

"What's wrong with you?" He asked again as he slowly leans forward, worry lacing his voice.

"My contacts..I slept with my contacts in," I explained. I resisted the urge to rub my eyes, knowing if I did they could get worse.

"Let me see." I heard him say before my rapid blinking stopped, now focused on the handsome face that stood only inches from mine.

"They're red, almost infected." He states. My eyes widened as he pushed my head back until it hit the soft pillow. "I'll get the doctor, stay here."

I nodded but disputed amongst myself to take them out myself. I never made the mistake of sleeping with contacts in, given the fact that I only wore them in public.

It felt like only a few seconds passed before the door flung open again. In walked another man.

As he came over to me he bent down and smiled. Even through hazy vision, my eyes still helped me analyze this man.

He had light brown hair that was swept to the side. They seemed to have contrasted with his amber eyes so perfectly. He had a slight stubble and amazing cheekbones. I also noticed the dark bags he held under his eyes, giving me the thought that he hadn't slept well for a few days.

"Hello Ms, I'm Dr. Ricci but you can call me Leo." He announced kindly as he set down a large black bag.

I just need my contacts removed, not my eyes-

"Prince told me you fell asleep with them in?" He asked referring to my contacts as he nods his head towards the door.

I look in the direction and see him standing there, looking back at me. His tall frame almost reaches the top of the doorframe.

"Yeah, I passed out with them in." I replied as I laid my head back, looking at Leo.

"And does that happen regularly?" he asked as he unzipped his bag. I shook my head and he nodded.

"Okay, that's good." He said with a smile and gave 'Prince' a glance. He slipped some dark blue gloves on, and sat down in the chair beside me.

"I'll take them out, okay?" He asked.

Why couldn't I just do it? Give me the damn gloves!

I relunctly nodded.
