WE SAT AT a table Prince had set up in the middle of nowhere. Despite how crazy we must've looked, it was actually an amazing experience. The whole night we filled the sound around us with light conversation.

"I didn't know you had a brother." I brought up, remembering my odd conversation with Maria.

"Yes, I have four siblings." He said while he stared at me with a smile.

"Really?" I asked, shocked.

How did I seriously not know that?

He nodded before standing up. I looked up at him as he walked towards me before holding his hand out.

"Let's take a walk." I raised a brow before pushing out my chair and taking his hand.

"These shoes aren't made for taking walks." I mused. He just smirked as he looked down at me.

"Just say the word and I'll carry you." He replied. I gave a light laugh at his response before seeing his face.

"Oh.. you're serious aren't you?"

***

"And when I was ten my father dropped me off across town and told me I had til the end of the day to figure out how to get home." Princes' voice said as he held my hand.

"Whoa.. when I was ten I learned how to ride a bike." I mumbled. I shot him a sad smile. "Your dad seems like a pretty intense guy."

"He can be, yes."

After a moment of thought I paused, Prince stopping with me once he noticed my lack of movement. I dropped his hand and looked up at him.

"Your dad was a total dick to you... so you resent him?" I asked.

"With a passion." He replied. I rolled my eyes and continued walking.

"So why do the same to Junior?" Less than a second later Prince grabbed my hand again and pulled me to a rough stop.

"Adonis doesn't hate me." He quips. The look on his face telling me he'd rather believe that then face the truth.

"Yeah, because he's got the mentality of a sugared up furball." I argued, shaking his grip off. "Imagine what'll happen when he gets older. He'll resent you more than you resent your own father."

His expression was as unmoving as a stone, almost as if his eyes daring me to insult his parenting.

Or continue to.

"He told me before I came here, you never had tucked him in or spent any time with him." I said, trying to get the harshness out of my tone. "Doesn't that sound like something your father would've done to you?"

After another minute of silence from him I continued.

"Look, Prince, I'm not a mother and the closest thing I've ever gotten to taking care of a kid would be from my years of babysitting, but you have to treat them with love and care." I started as I shifted on my feet. "If you neglect them they'll turn out like..."

I glanced up at him, my hands moving around me to get my point across.

"Well, like you really."

He deeply sighed as he ran a hand down his face, face flushing.

Mama told me to mind my damn business but here I am-

I put my hand on his arm, pulling his hand away from his face. Within the time he covered his face to when I uncovered it, his eyes swelled up with tears threatening to drop.

The moment I saw the pained expression on his face I wanted to apologize. I wanted to take it back even though it was all true. A kid as sweet and innocent as Junior shouldn't have to endure the treatment Prince puts him through.

"Prince do-"

Before I could continue and try to comfort him, his arms moved from my hold to around my waist. He hugged me tightly, pressing me against his body.

He pulled away and looked down at me with a smile, his eyes slightly red.

"I'm sorry, I don't know why I'm so upset. All you did was tell me the truth." He said in a hushed tone as he kissed my forehead.

"This is my second time making you cry." I mumbled as I pressed my face against his chest. "Do all mafia men cry this much?"

"Mm.. just the ones lucky enough to have someone like you in their lives."

"Smooth." I laughed.

***

"Okay, now do me." I say as I leaned my back on the slick car. We managed to make our way back the way we came, taking a hour walk, give or take.

Prince raised his brow before looking side to side.

"I know there isn't anyone around here for miles but it's still out in the open." He began, a smirk gracing his features. "I didn't think you'd be into that type of thing, bellissima."

Before I could say anything he was already leaning in. I huffed as my cheeks heated up and put my hand on his chest to stop him.

"I meant to ask me questions." I clarified once I saw the confused look on his face. He chuckled before taking my hand and kissing it.

"Of course." He said more to himself. He took a moment to think of some questions before looking back at me with a soft smile. "What's your favorite color?"

I looked up at him with an amused smile.

"We're doing those questions?"

"We've got to start off somewhere, right?"

I nod in agreement as I think.

"I like purple, any shade but lighter ones like lilac really get my attention. I also like the the colors brown and gold together." I answered.

"Brown and gold? I like it." He complimented. "Next question, how do you feel about kids."

"Well I love Junior, he's an angel." I respond.

"What about kids of your own?"

"I don't have-" I paused again as I stared at him wide eyed. "Prince!"

"Royal," He said in a mocking tone, his smirk as prominent as ever.

I stared him down and crossed my arms. He never looked away from my dual colored eyes so I sighed.

"I do want kids one day. Just.. not any day soon." I answered honestly. He nodded his head as if taking a mental note.

"Next question, go."

"Alright, I've been meaning to ask; what happened to your family?"
