IT HAD BEEN a few days, three to be exact, since I first met Eden and Mateo. It had also been three days since Prince promised to explain what happened between him and Mateo.

He would avoid me, only coming into my room when I was fast asleep. I had been so preoccupied with Junior that I didn't have enough time during the day to see him. When I got back home, the next morning I went straight back to work.

Junior shouted in shock when he saw my face, frowning at the long cut and faint bruised eye. After twenty minutes of trying to explain to him that I got into an accident and Prince, for whatever reason, had no part in my injury, he started acting like his old self again.

He also told me his father said something about a park, and pouting that his dad lied to him, seeing as he hadn't been present the whole day. After telling Junior I would talk to him for him, we continued doing whatever it was we were doing.

On my way to grab a snack for Junior, I bumped into Alice. She was causally sitting in the kitchen, eating.

"Alice? When did you get here?" I asked walking closer to her. She looked up and gave me bright smile before dropping it, quietly gasping as she saw my face.

The cut was obviously still there, nearly healed. Same thing with my eye.

"Oh my! Prince was right, you look horrible!" She exclaimed as she rushed towards me. I rolled my eyes.

"I feel like we've done this before." I mumbled, pushing her hands away as she tried to reach out for me. "I'm fine."

"Yes, you do seem in peak physical condition besides those injuries." She said, examining me head to toe. "Did you meet Eden?!"

I nodded, taking her large smile into account.

"Oh, I love her!" She said as she clapped her hands together. "She's amazing."

I nodded in agreement.

"So why are you here?" I asked again. I walked past her and into the kitchen, opening the fridge to find a small snack for Junior.

"I came to see you and talk to you about the ball." She said. I turned around and my eyes widened.

"Right the ball! When was it again, I know it was soon but never got an official date." I asked.

"It was supposed to be in two weeks but I had them reschedule it until a month from now." She shrugged, waving her hand with a smirk.

"What- why would you do that?" I asked, my mind going blank. She stared at me with a solemn stare.

"Because of you, dear. I want my husband and the rest of my children to meet you." She said calmly. I looked at her confused. She raised her hand and gestures towards her cheek. "Without these horrible, horrible marks."

"Of course." I said sarcastically, closing the fridge after pulling out a small bag of fruits. "I guess appearance is important for you rich people, huh."

She nodded, taking her seat. I looked at her, speechless. She giggled.

"No shame!" I exclaimed, walking out the room.

"See you soon, dear!"

"Go to sleep and I'll see what I can do about the whole park situation." I said slowly, rubbing the top of Junior's head. He nodded, giving me a tight hug before laying down in his bed.
