Spaghetti & Mess
_______________________________FOR THE NEXT eight hours, I was teaching Junior in all his subjects.
Alice hadn't come back since she made Jane leave. Junior doesn't seem that affected by it so that's an upside.
"Then you add three!" Junior cheered as he sloppily wrote down the number. He looked up at me for approval and I nodded.
"Good job." I smiled as I patted his hair, which was surprisingly soft.
His toothy smile beamed as he looked at the next problem. The paper he was working on consisted of simple math problems that involved various fruits and vegetables.
"Okay and that's the last one." I sighed as I checked over his paper. "You're practically a genius."
He giggled at the compliment.
"Can we eat again?" He asked as he sat up from his spot on the couch. I placed the paper back on the table and nodded.
"Yeah, we can take a snack break. What do you wanna eat?" I asked. His eyes squinted in thought as he tried remembering all the foods he's eaten and his favorite ones.
"Can we eat ice cream?!" He suddenly shouted.
"Chocolate sundaes?" I asked. He nodded his head and I laughed at his eagerness. "Fine, but you know you can't only eat cold treats all day."
"I know, but they're realllyyyy yummy!" He argued.
We laughed and made our way to the kitchen where we bumped into the maid from earlier.
"Madam, young master." She acknowledged as soon as we stepped into the room.
"Hi Ms. Vivian!" Junior greeted as he skipped past her, taking a seat at the kitchen island.
"Do you need any help? What are you making?" She asked as she walked besides me. I gave her a sad smile.
"We're making sundaes!!" Junior butted in.
"I'll help." She quickly replies as she runs around the kitchen, gathering toppings, tools, and everything else you'd possibly need to make the best sundaes ever.
"I- oh.. okay.." I mumble as she zips pass me. I take a seat next to Junior after multiple failed attempts of telling her it was okay.
She places a chocolate sundae in front of Junior and looks at me.
"Would you like one?" She asked as she prepared her surroundings to make another serving. I shook my head at the timid woman and she gave me an almost invisible smile.
"Hey, Junior, how about we eat in the dining room?" I questioned as I remembered walking around the room on our way here.
"Okay!" He exclaimed. As he stood and walked towards the dining room, I grabbed his bowl and slowly followed behind.
"We'll talk later?" I muttered to Vivian and she nodded. We walked back to the dining room, taking seats beside each other.
Junior began rambling about himself as he ate his cold treat. I learned that his favorite colors were purple and blue, sometimes red. He's never had any pets because, and I quote, "I'm too young".
I personally disagreed. If he's not getting any other human contact with children his age, he should at least have a pet to keep him company.
After he finished eating and talking, we made our way back to his 'safe corner' and continued his home schooling. When we finished he wanted to stay and play, I had no choice but to comply.
