"SO YES, THE Gala will be postponed until my son wakes up, Beatrice." I heard Alices' voice say as I turned the corner. I stopped in my tracks and slightly frowned.

"Well I need my whole family there, it's bad enough Lincoln didn't even show up to the Soirée." She continued, writing something on a white paper as she held the phone to her ear. "I don't know what to tell you."

I raised a brow as I saw the woman sit on the white sofa in the parlor, placing the black pen down and taking a quick sip of her drink.

"Go and complain to your husband, Bea. At least then someone would care." She sassed, hanging up her phone. I stood in the door way, looking at her in shock. Once she finally noticed me she placed her glass down and smiled at me.

"Royal, dear! I didn't hear you come in! How is life?" She questioned.

"I just saw you yesterday." I reminded as I took a step into the private room. She beckoned me into the room, having me sit next to her. I gave her a warm smile as I sat besides her, folding my arms.

"I know, I know, but a lot can change in such a short time." She replied.

"Like how I now know Noelle is coming over today?" I ask as I stare at her with furrowed brows. Her eyes momentarily widened before returning back to their normal size, her blue irises darting around the room.

"Yes, exactly." She mumbled. "But in my defense, you were to already have known. I just did you the curtesy to remind you so you wouldn't be surprised when she popped over."

I sighed at her words, knowing she was correct. Prince did tell me that Noelle would be over. He also suggested that I should stay nearby. I groaned as I covered my face with my hands, leaning back against the sofa.

"What's the matter, dear?" Alice queried, placing her hand on my shoulder. I sat up and pulled my hands from my face.

"Nothing, just that I'm going to have to be here when she visits." I answered. Alice took my hand gently squeezed it.

"You don't really need to be, I mean we have guards stationed all around the property. You can go out for the day; treat yourself before the baby arrives because once it does, you won't be getting any peace and quiet for a long time." She said, shaking her head knowingly.

"I don't know.. what if something bad happens?" I question, my brain creating unrealistic scenarios. Alice gave me a small laugh, shaking her head.

"We can monitor everything from one of the tablets as we're out. These cameras were installed for a reason, you know." She said as she pointed towards the almost invisible device in the corner of the room. "Nothing will happen, and if it does, we'll be able to see it. I'll also have the guards alert us if anything happens."

Her reasoning seemed logical, and not wanting to anger Alice any more than she already had been due to her phone call, I reluctantly agreed. The loud squeal coming from her as a result making me instantly regret my decision.

"This is going to be so much fun! We can take Apolline to the mall again, she said she wanted to try an ice cream cone." Alice suggested. I stared at the woman, completely amazed at how she was able to switch up like that.

"I think we should take her to a doctor, or a psychiatrist if anything." I spoke up. She gave me a confused look before I continued. "She witnessed her fathers' death and had no reaction."

As I remind her she lets out a short 'oh' before shaking her head.

"She's fine, she's got tough skin is all." She concluded. I deadpanned, my mouth slightly open.
