Eden & Angry
____________________________MY EYES STUNG with tears as my bloodied lip and cheek ached. The red liquid dripped down my chin and onto my lap.
I closed my eyes tightly together, stopping the tears from rolling down my face to stop them from meeting with my cuts and bruises.
"Now, what's next? Hm.. how about we give this a try." The man suggested, holding up a large metal tool.
"S-stop. Please stop." I mumble, my voice barely loud enough to be heard. The man stopped his actions to stare at me, staying silent until the back of his hand connected with my cheek. My eyes went wide as I choked out a gasp, sobbing as the pain echoed throughout my body.
"Shut the hell up, if I wanted you to talk I would've said so." He spat out, venom lacing his words.
My eyes watered as the sound of a button being clicked and a whirring noise filled the room.
"Now, let's see how many bones I can remove before your heart gives out." I prepared myself for the immense pain until the door opened.
I couldn't exactly see who it was but the silhouette of the person was definitely male, their tall stature and muscular build evident.
"Per l'Amor di Dio." The man spoke as he walked into the room, his deep voice making the man who had been torturing me for the past hour quickly turn around. (Translation: For the love of God.)
"Mr. A-" He began. He was cut off by the sound of the safety being removed off a gun. I raised my head higher to see him holding a gun, cocking it and aiming it at the man. "Wait-"
The ear piercing sound of a bullet being shot from a pistol in a small space rung through the room, making me groan loudly and try to cover my ears.
Once the ringing subsided, I rapidly blinked my eyes and saw the lifeless body of the musty man that had caused me so much pain on the floor. My breath hitched as his dark eyes remained open, decorated by the hole between his eyebrows and the blood gushing from it.
I've seen my fair share of dead bodies growing up, unfortunately, but I've never seen it happen. Seen someone murder someone else in cold blood.
The blood that seeped onto the uneven concrete floor slowly made its way to me, making me try and maneuver my bare feet away from the thick liquid.
"Excuse me." The man said. I looked up to see him wiping his cheek with a white cloth before throwing it onto the floor. His thick accent reminded me of Prince's and that was enough for my eyes to well up again, wanting to see his face.
"Don't kill me. I don't even know why I'm here- I don't know shit about shit!" I exclaimed, my heart pounding as my eyes widened as he stepped closer. I instinctively scooted my chair back, it almost toppling over until his large hand grabbed the back of it and balanced me.
"I know." He said calmly, removing his hand and backing away. "I mean you no harm, piccolo coniglio." (Translation: little bunny.)
"Yeah, I've heard that before..." I trailed off, my eyes going back to the dead man. His rough hand came under my chin and lifted it up, giving me a polite smile.
"Don't look."
He let go of me and maintained eye contact, daring me to look away. But I didn't, not even when two more men came into the room, one untying my arms and the other freeing my legs.
I finally broke contact when my wrists were free, looking down to rub them. They were bruised as the imprint of the rope imbedded into my skin.
"I apologize for that, being tied up is in no means a form of hospitality." He said, looking down at my wrists and ankles. I remained silent, staring at him. He took my lack of words into consideration as he nodded his head towards the door. "Let's go get you cleaned up, that cut on your cheek might get infected."
