Tea & Baths
_______________________________"WOULD YOU LIKE some tea?" She asked as we walk into a large kitchen. I shook my head as she pointed to a seat.
"Can you just..tell me when I can go home?" I asked as I looked at her. She held an empty cup and put it down.
"I don't think you can." She said as she poured water into the pot. I stared at her with wide eyes.
"What? I can't go back?" I asked.
Not like I had anywhere to go actually.
"I'm sorry." She said as she turned back around.
"But after someone finds out who we are and what we do, we can't just let them leave." She finished. I looked at her confused.
"I don't know who you are or what you do. I don't even know why I'm still here." I admitted. She looked at me before smiling.
"We're the mafia." She said with a sweet smile.
"E-excuse me?" I stutter. She really just said that-
is she trying to get me killed?!
"My family is apart of the mafia. Well, a big part." She says casually with the same smile as before.
"Why would you tell me that?"
"I trust you."
"You barely know me." I comment as she looks around the room. She looks back at me, pushes a fistful of her hair behind her shoulder and slides an empty cup to me.
"I've just got a feeling that you're good change." She says in a low voice, almost as if it was for my ears only. "Now, drink up."
"A good change for who?" I ask as I eye her and the empty cup.
"Enough questions. Drink your tea and follow me." She said. Not knowing what else to do, I listen to the older woman.
Pouring the smallest amount of tea I possibly could, I gulp it down and turn to see her almost out of my sight. I scurry behind her, not wanting to be left in this huge house where I could bump into anyone else.
If this place is home to people of the mafia, It'd be smart to follow the one lady who hasn't tried to kill me...yet.
I follow her all the way up a flight of ridiculously long stairs. She didn't seem tired whatsoever, while I'm over here, sweating like a pig.
"Now, you'll stay here for the time being." She said as we stopped in front of two large double doors.
I look up at the large doors in awe as my eyes travel their unique design. Dark wood framed by gold, small swirls encasing it. It stopped just below the ceiling, making it seem like something you'd see in a fairytale.
She pushed the door open and I was even more amazed. This was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen in my life.
"You like it?" She asked. Her Italian voice knocking me out of my thoughts. I looked at her and gave her a small nod.
"What do you think will happen to me?" I ask before she could say anything else.
"Well, that's up to my son." She said before leaving me.
You mean Jeb is gonna decide my fate?! That's just great!
I walk farther into the room and shut the double doors, which surprisingly, weren't as heavy as I thought the would've been.
This room is bigger then my living room and bathroom combined. Although it was a little plain looking, I could definitely make this work.
I sat on the covered sheets, kicking off my shoes as I laid back on the comfortable bed.
If this is a guest bedroom, I wanna see what the others look like.
As I was staring up at the white ceiling, I realized something. That lady, Jeb's mom, never told me her name. Or what to do..
I contemplated weather or not I should stay put or try and find a way to sneak out of here. I feel like if I see as much of this place as possible, it's be easier for the map in my head to register an escape route.
But me being the cautious, diligent kidnapee, I figured I should stay here. I don't wanna risk getting murdered today or any day.
I decided to explore the room, figuring that it was the easiest and safest choice. I stood up and walked alongside the wall, my hand grazing the printed wallpaper which resembled roses and pink peas.
The bathroom connected was also huge. Built in bathtub, standing shower, all the works. I was honestly surprised that a neighborhood like this was only a few minutes away from mine.
I slid off my gray coat and wrapped it around the back of one of the chairs that were placed in the corner of the room.
I was in dire need of a bath and a new change of clothes. My body is hot, sweaty, and I was absolutely uncomfortable in my current situation. A soothing bath always helped with stress.
In the end, I hopped in that bathtub. Yes I did. And I have no regrets because that bath was amazing. The water wrapping around me, sloshing at every movement I made was calming.
I laid in the bath, my hair was getting wet but I didn't really care at the moment. All I wanted was a second for my whole world to slow down, giving me enough time to understand what's been going on.
As I sat up, I realized I didn't have a towel.
This always happens!
For a split second I doubted anyone would step in the room, seeing how I've been in the bathtub for about an hour now and no one had knocked on the door or came barging in.
So, I stood up, letting the water fall of my body, landing back in the tub and on the ground as I walked out of the bathroom and into the room.
I looked in every drawer I could find, hoping to see a a fluffy towel but I had no luck. I looked in the bathroom and the main room.
I was wet and cold as I stood in the room, still looking for a towel or a soft robe or anything really!
I need something to cover up and wipe my body with. Before I could recheck every compartment for a third time, the door swung open.
