AFTER SPENDING WHAT felt like hours wondering and exploring his room, I got up and decided to leave. A few minutes later I found myself in the kitchen, deciding to get a snack.

I stood in the kitchen in one of Prince's black dress shirts. It reached down to my thigh as I shuffled around in a pair of fuzzy slippers he had left for me.

I completely disregard the thought of anyone else coming down here since it was so early, that was until I saw a figure move in the corner of my eye.

I looked away from the bowl of chocolate candies and saw Maria walk past the kitchen holding a basket. I smiled at her and waved her down.

"Maria? Hey, how are you?" I called out. She stopped and looked up at me. Her lips turned into a small, but forced smile as she nodded her body towards me.

"Ma'am. I'm fine. I thought you'd be getting the young master ready?" She asked as she slid the basket to her side, holding it on her hip.

"Yeah, uh, I was given the day off." I mumbled. She quirks an eye brow before looking down at the basket. "What're you doing this early?"

"The laundry." She said blandly, still holding a false smile.

"Oh, I'll help." I say, walking towards her. She examines my outfit as I walk from behind the kitchen island. She nods after a few seconds and continues walking.

After a few awkward minutes of silence, I decide to break the tension.

"Hey Maria, what can you tell me about this house?" I ask as I watched her grab a freshly washed load of dark colored clothes.

"What would you like to know?" She asked, folding a pair of pants.

"Who lives here? I've noticed a few maids walking around late at night. And I'm pretty sure those cooks never left." I say as I remember how they offered to make me a gourmet meal for breakfast.

"The mansion has many rooms, forty-nine in total. The ones that reside in the west wing belong to the servants and the rest of the employees." She says.

"Whoa.. that's generous." I mumbled. My mind was trying to figure out how big this house would need to be to hold forty-nine rooms. "Here, I can help you."

I stood up and grabbed clothes from the basket. I felt her eyes on me as I started to fold a maroon and blue dress shirts. I decided to ignore her as best as I could, until she spoke up again.

"Did you run out of clothes?" She asked as she turned back to her stack of clothes. "I do recall you using the Don's money and going shopping."

I looked down at my outfit and looked at her with a sheepish smile. "No, I have clothes.. these aren't mine."

"Sleeping on the job is not acceptable. It interferes with the work you are being paid to do." She remarked knowingly.

Well then I guess sleeping with my boss is a no go?

"I can't say that I agree with you." I mumbled quietly. I reached into the basket and got another top, I paused as I saw it was a white t-shirt covered in baby pandas.
