Mammina & No
____________________________POV: CHANGE
"SHE'S FINE, PRINCE." My mother's voice tried to reassure for the hundredth time.
"If she was, she would have called by now and told me so herself." I replied with a sigh, leaning against my desk.
My mother had come down earlier than discussed to surprise Royal, and to make sure she has a good enough outfit ready for the ball. It had also been an hour since she left. I was under the impression that helping Zion with a case wouldn't take this long.
"Maybe she's hanging out late with her little friend." My mother added, shrugging her shoulders as she threw her hair over her shoulder. "She is a young woman after all."
I looked up at her and rose a brow.
"And what's that supposed to mean?" I asked. She sat back in her chair and shrugged again.
"She's what, twenty? She was practically a teenager a few years ago. You say you love her but you won't make anything official." She claims, raising her hands. "If she really wanted to, she could be with someone else, someone who wants to make a commitment and she wouldn't be in the wrong."
"I'm not having this conversation with you." I stated, walking around my desk and sitting in my chair.
"And why the hell not? It's not like you'll be having it with Royal anytime soon, you pussy." She remarked, saying the last part louder than the rest of the sentence. I rolled my eyes.
"My relationship with you is entirely unhealthy.." I mumble, raking a hand through my hair.
"I like what you've done to the place." My mother began, looking down at the red leather sofa she was sitting on. "Why the sudden change?"
"I got rid of everything Elizabeth touched and burned it." I said casually, slouching in my chair. She started talking again but I tuned her out, too caught up in my thoughts.
I anxiously bit on my lip as my foot began tapping against the floor, the noise being the only other sound in the room. I could feel my mother's gaze from the side of my head.
"You really think somethings happened?" She asked. I instantly nodded my head, staring at my phone that had been placed on my desk. "Call the driver."
"I already did. He said that she told him not to wait up." I groaned. I hung my head back. "This woman will be the death of me."
"Little too late for that." My mother laughed. I glowered at her, my green eyes meeting her blue ones. "If she isn't back within the next hour, we'll send out a team for her. And if we can't find her.."
"We kill Zion." I finished. I hadn't noticed I was smirking.
"You sound a little too happy about it that."
I rolled my eyes, prepared to put an end to this conversation when my phone began ringing. My eyes shifted to the screen to see I was getting a call from an unknown number.
"Answer it."
"I don't answer unknown numbers." I stated, watching as my phone buzzed manically on my desk.
"Boy," She stopped herself as she stood up and grabbed my phone, clicking the accept call button and putting it on speaker.
"Hello, Prince." A voice came from the other end. I groaned once more and rolled my eyes at the annoyingly familiar voice, cursing under my breath.
