____________________________"ARE YOU ALRIGHT?" Aidan asked, his hand rubbing up and down my back.
"I'm... fine." I respond, looking up at him with a heavy sigh. "Just exhausted. I thought I could trust Alice. She welcomed me with open arms."
"Yeah, I mean she's been you and The Don's biggest supporter since day one... er- supposedly." Aidan mumbled aloud. Before I could say anything, the door was kicked open, a familiar silhouette rushing in.
"There you are!" Liam shouted, glaring at Aidan. I furrowed my brows as Aidan took a step back, almost cowering behind me. "I've been looking around for you for the past hour!"
"Ah- hey babe, I've been here— comforting Royal." He claimed, pointing down at me. Liam freezes, staring at me then to Aidan. He walked further into the room, his face falling.
"Why, what's wrong?" He asked. He took a seat beside me, looking down at my sullen figure. I glanced at Aidan, the gazes of the tall males staring down at me.
Aidan quickly grabbed Liams' attention, grabbing onto his arms and standing him up.
"I'll tell you later, but right now how about you go.. ask the maids to get dinner prepared?" Aidan distracted, gently shoving his boyfriend towards the door.
"Uh- sure, alright." He mumbled, waving at me before walking out the room. Aidan let out a sigh of relief when he was out of sight, hurriedly shutting the door.
"He doesn't know?" I question him, standing from my bed. Aidan looks back at me with a sigh, shaking his head. "Why? I thought he would've by now."
"I decided to keep it from him, just for now." He answered. He saw the confused look on my face before he gave me a small, sad smile. "Liam has the tendency to do... dangerous things when he's upset, especially when it involves his family."
"Alright, I trust your judgement." I say, my mind shifting back to Liam.
I haven't spent a lot of time with him since we've met so I couldn't say how he'd react to learning about what Alice has done. Liam and Prince have an odd relationship but it's clear that they care for each other.
Aidan told me he and Liam lived on the far wing of the house. It made sense given the fact there were long periods of times I wouldn't see Liam or Aidan but they would always pop up unexpectedly.
"For now we should-" Aidan began, a sharp knock from my door cutting him off. We both glanced at each other, Aidans' hand instinctively going to under his coat and resting on his weapon.
"Calm down, it could be one of the guards." I say as I walk towards the door. Aidan quickly grabbed my shoulder, the action gentle yet firm.
"Or it could be someone trying to put two in your skull." He whispered bluntly. My eyes widened at his words, his face remaining stoic. "Word has gotten out about your relationship with The Don. From the moment you decided to work for him you've had a target on your back, an even bigger one now that you're romantically involved and pregnant."
"This place is under surveillance twenty-four seven, how would that even be possible?" I questioned quietly, following in Aidans' steps and lowering my voice. He shrugged, stepping in front of me before signaling for me to step away from the door.
"I'd hate to admit it but not everyone on The Dons' payroll is exactly loyal." He responded with narrow eyes, glaring at the door.
I only nodded and kept quiet as he raised one hand to his face, his pointer finger pressed against his lips as he slowly pulled out his gun. I watched in astonishment as he stalked towards the door in complete silence, not a creak or even the tapping of his shoes audible.
