"Sit down," Malfoy said, gesturing to the edge of the bed. He conjured a wet cloth into his hand and started to wipe the little trickle of blood from under my nose. "You're lucky I got there before he could do anything to you," he sighed.

"I know..." I murmured, "I'm sorry."

Malfoy looked up, his eyebrows furrowed. "What are you sorry for?"

"You left Pucey on the floor drunk and with a broken nose." I frowned, "If he tells anyone, you'll be in massive trouble. And that all comes back down on me."

"It does not," Malfoy couldn't believe this was even coming out of my mouth. "It's his fault for putting his filthy hands on you." He said, tossing the damp cloth to the side. "Should've given him more than just a broken nose."

Malfoy turned around and pulled open one of my draws. He took out a pair of bed shorts and a big tee; "Go get changed," he said, handing them to me. "I'll make the bed."

"Okay, thanks...," I whispered softly, taking my clothes from his hand.

I went into the bathroom and pulled my dress over my head. I tossed it into the laundry hamper which sat in the corner and started to change into my bed clothes. There was a quiet rustle through the door, but I paid no mind to it. I simply proceeded to brush my teeth, wash my face and eventually, after a solid minute of searching for a bobble, threw my curls up into a lop-sided bun.

When I finally opened the bathroom door, I walked out to find Malfoy pulling the pillow barrier down from the bed. I decided to stand and watch him for a couple of seconds, but when I did decide to clear my throat, he looked over at me like a deer caught in headlights.

"What're you doing...?" I asked, slowly coming over towards him. He could see the amusement all over my face.

"We don't really need it," Malfoy shrugged, as though it was nothing. "It's a big enough bed for us to share and still be able to keep our distance."

"Uh-huh?" I smiled teasingly.

Malfoy rolled his eyes and grinned. "What?" He probed.

"Nothing." I shook my head, hands raised in retreat. "It's just— a bit ironic."

Malfoy fully turned around to face me, his eyebrows raised. "And how's that?"

"Well, you've proven to not be the best at keeping your distance" I said, my lip between my teeth. He clearly understood my reference to the night up in the Astronomy Tower."That was different," he said, slowly stepping towards me. "It was just so cold and you were hogging all of the blanket..."

"Still," I said, looking down when he stopped in front of me. My voice was nearly a whisper. "You were the one who cuddled me."

Malfoy tilted his head and drew a slow, ring-clad finger along my collarbone. "And I'll do it again if I have to." He whispered. Every muscle in my throat contracted and my voice suddenly felt very hard to find.

"Good to know..." I swallowed nervously.

We both ended up laying on our sides, hands resting dangerously close and faces only a couple inches apart.

"Are you cold?" Malfoy asked, his pale eyes slowly looking over my face. I rolled my lip in between my teeth and shook my head. "No," I whispered, grinning. "Are you?"

"A little bit." Malfoy said, suggestively inching a little bit closer to where I lay, facing him. "Hm," I hummed, reaching for the hem of the duvet. I pulled it further over his shoulder and smiled. "Is that better?"

Malfoy clicked onto what I was doing almost immediately. "No, not really." He whispered, "I need something warmer..."

"Really?" I asked. He looked down when I gently stroked a finger along his wrist. "I dunno... you feel pretty warm to me."

Malfoy looked back up with a pout. "Come on..." he said, in a low, almost pleading voice.

"Goodnight, Malfoy." I whispered, smiling mischievously to myself.
