Apparently news had already spread around Hogwarts by the time morning rolled around, ready to greet me with a room full of stares. Upon entering the Slytherin common room, I kept my eyes locked on the mahogany doors and was about to head out when—
"Y/N, wait!"
I pause half-way through pushing the door open, lodging my foot in between it to look behind my shoulder. Millicent, Daphne and Tracy were all walking towards me, their eyes twinkling in curiosity.
"Is it true?" Daphne nearly pounced on me, my eyes-widened at the suddenness of it. "Did Draco Malfoy really get sliced into pieces?"
"Oh my god, Daphne, you can't just ask someone if their man was sliced into pieces." Millicent nudged Daphne in the stomach, earning a small eye roll from the blond.
"What? Don't act like you weren't saying it a second ago—,"
"Girls—," I cough lightly, regaining their attention. "I can assure you Draco hasn't been... sliced into pieces? He's perfectly fine, he's been recovering well."
"Oh well... I suppose it was too soon to get my hopes up high." Millicent jokes, playfully prodding me in the stomach. I laugh lightly, subtly brushing past them towards the door, trying to make my getaway.
"Look— as much as I would love to chat with you guys— I actually uh— need to get to the hospital wing. I promised Draco I would see him."
"Well, have fun seeing your Prince Charming." Daphne joked, gently placing her hand on the small of my back to lead me out the room without Millicent exploding with anymore questions. "Oh also! If you see Pansy on the way there, ask her we've been needing to see her.
"Yeah, no worries." I force a smile, "I'll let her know."

After listening to an ear-exploding amount of goodbyes, I managed to slip out into the halls and paced through the castle, my mind occupied by one thing and one thing only.
"Draco!"
Draco looked up from his lap, his resting face immediately lighting up when our eyes locked. He immediately threw his book down against the bed and held his arms out, smiling when he saw me rush towards him.
"Y/N!"
I immediately dived into him and felt myself melt as his arms found themselves around me, embracing me into a nearly suffocating hug. I wrapped my own arms around his torso, careful to not graze over any scars as I breathed in his minty scent. The hug lasted longer than expected, both of us just needing a minute to absorb each other's warmth.
When I finally pulled back, I encased the side of Draco's face in my hand, gently caressing my thumb across his cheek. "How are you feeling?"
"Better." Draco murmured, his eyes more focused on my face. He curled one of my locks around his finger, habitually fiddling with it. "What about you? Did you sleep okay? Had anything to eat?"
"Draco," I interrupt him, using my grip to tilt his head, making his eyes lock with mine. "I'm okay, it's you I'm worried about. Let me take care of you."
"There's nothing to take care of. I'm perfectly fine." Draco insist, pointing to his face. "See? Madam Pomfrey managed to heal the cut on my face."
"And your chest? How's that healing?" I ask curiously, my hands travelling towards the hem of his bedshirt. Draco immediately clutched onto the hem before I could, his eyes looking panicked.
