~ Years in the future ~

Only a week had passed since Christmas Day, a holiday that certainly lived up to its expectations of being perfect. But since that day, a new addition had been added to my family- and things couldn't be anymore exhausting than what they were.
It was New Years Eve, and only just past midnight when I woke up. My mind had already began buzzing with parental instinct, and I immediately sat up- half awake.
That's when I realised there was a quiet cooing from besides me, and I looked over to see Draco with heavy rings apparent under his eyes, but despite how sleep-deprived he appeared to be- his smile made him look like the happiest man on the planet. He had a new little bundle of joy cradled snugly in his arms, and to say he was obsessed with his tiny daughter was an understatement.
Dim moonlight slipped in through the tiny slit in the curtains, and gently shone down upon his pale face. His messy platinum blond hair was all ruffled up, and he eventually looked up at me- and that's when I saw the twinkle in his eyes. He looked at me with so much love in them, a love I suppose he shared for both myself and the small, blanket-swathed bundle held gently in his arms.
'I'm sorry, my love. Did I wake you?' Draco asks softly, and watched as I rubbed my eyes with my clenched fists. Having a newborn, as expected, was tough work. She was still so little, and required a lot from us as parents. But at the end of the day we both still got up and cradled our little one every time she cried during the night, and I personally had to feed her every two hours. It became an exhausting routine.
'No, no... not at all.' I murmur sleepily, moving closer towards my husband and daughter, our bed duvets getting all caught up in between my legs. 'Autumns been waking me up at this time since she was born... routine I suppose.'
Autumn was only a few days old, and required to be fed and hushed to sleep often. However that came a lot of missed sleep. Draco empathised about this, and gently stroked his free hand through my hair while keeping Autumn cradled carefully in the other. He was a big help, and would distract Scorpius and keep Autumn with him for a few hours at a time during the day, allowing me to catch up on any little bit of sleep I missed- even if it was at two or three in the afternoon.
He let out a deep sigh, and looked back down at Autumn; this time using both of his arms to cradle her closer to his chest. He pressed a gentle kiss against her tiny head, and it was apparent something was on his mind.
'What's up...?' I ask softly, gently placing my hand on his thigh. He looked back at me at the sound of my voice, and frowned a little. He looked worried.
'I'm just afraid for tonight...' Draco admits quietly, 'It'll be absolute chaos- especially with living in the heart of London. You know how loud it'll be with the New Years Eve celebrations- and Autumns sensitive enough to noise at it is. She starts to cry if Scorpius has the telly loud- I don't want her to get frightened.'
Being the mother I am- had already figured out the solution to this problem- but on the other hand Draco was still paranoid. His sensitivity had been at an all time high. He cried his absolute eyes out when Autumn was born, cried even more when he saw she was a girl, became the most over-protective father ever, and proceeded to become the biggest softie to ever roam this earth.
