𝔇𝔢𝔞𝔯 𝔇𝔯𝔞𝔠𝔬,

𝒎𝒚 𝒅𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒅𝒂𝒓𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈; 𝒎𝒚 𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒄𝒊𝒐𝒖𝒔 𝒔𝒐𝒏,

I hope you're holding up well. I have to say, I'm relieved you are anywhere but here. Things with your father have certainly been... intense. I fully understand if you wish to not return home for the rest of the holiday season, however, I thought I may as well invite you back for New Year's Eve. You'll be pleased to know your father won't be present during the event due to a work-related emergency. Therefore, I deem it safe for your return, and at last I'll be able to give you your Christmas present. Many wizards from the Ministry will be there, including the Minister himself, so be sure to dress your best. It's going to be a Masquerade Themed-Ball, so if you could bring your precious Y/N along, I'd be delighted. You can also pass an invitation along to the Weasley's if you wish, as a thank you for taking you in their care.

I miss you terribly, Draco. Please come home, even if it is for one night. I love you.

Time: 6:00
Location: Malfoy Manor

See you there, lovely.

"Mums sent me a letter." Draco said aloud.

"That's nice," I cooed, pushing a thin layer of bruise-removal paste across his back. "What did she say?"

Draco gritted his teeth; a loud hiss soon following. My hand had just stroked a particularly sore area of his back. "That stings!" Draco said, trying to claw the paste off. It felt like someone was digging hot knives into his flesh.

"I told you it would sting a little, Draco." I quickly swatted his hand away. Draco glared at me over his shoulder but I dismissed it at once. "So don't say I didn't warn you. Just sit still."

"A little?" Draco scoffed. "A little?!"

"Don't be dramatic.

"Oh yeah, me, dramatic." Draco scoffed. I rolled my eyes and moved my hands towards his shoulder blades. "You are, now tell me about the letter."

Draco rolled his eyes and slouched. "She asked me to come home."

My hands suddenly stopped in their movements. "What? When? Why?"

"She's invited us to a New Year's party. Some sort of Ball. She said the others can come too." Draco explained.

"Do you really think that's a good idea? After all— your father, he might—,"

"He won't be home." Draco cut me off. "Mum said he's had to go. Something to do with work."

"Alright..." I said, taking my hands away from his back. "I suppose it'll be alright as long as you're comfortable with going back..."

"I am." Draco insisted. "It's one night. Plus, I want to see my mum."

I dipped my head and pressed a kiss against his temple. Draco's eyes immediately closed, a warm lopsided smile spread across his face. "Guess we're going to see your mum."
