Ever since the loss of Cedric Diggory, a boy, a friend, who'd been murdered by no other than You-Know-Who, an insufferable gloom had dawned upon Hogwarts.

I pulled my robes on over my shoulder and stared at my reflection. Draco stood behind me, brushing a couple fingers through my hair. "Do I look okay?" I asked softly, staring at the dark circles under my eyes. "Beautiful." Draco whispered, continuing the gentle movements of his hand.

Soon after, we left our room and disappeared into the dark stairwell. No one spoke as they passed one another in the halls. There was a heavy, miserable silence in the air; while most kept their heads down.

We entered the Great Hall, which had been lined with rows of seats. Neutral banners, each with the Hogwarts crest, hung from the ceiling. Once I took a seat, Draco followed and placed a hand in my lap.

Dumbledore sat behind his podium, resting the weight of his head in his palm. The lines across his head were creased, as though he were in deep thought. Then at last, he cleared his throat and looked up through his half-moon spectacles.

"Today we acknowledge a really terrible loss." He rose from his seat. "Cedric Diggory was as you all know, exceptionally hard working, intricately fair minded. And most importantly a fierce, fierce friend."

I glanced around the room. Most had their heads bowed; likely to mask the tears that rolled down their cheeks.

"I think therefore you have the right to know exactly how he died. You see, Cedric Diggory was murdered by Lord Voldemort."

I winced at the name.

"The Ministry of Magic does not wish me to tell you this. But not to do so I think would be an insult to his memory. Now the pain we all feel at this dreadful loss reminds me, reminds us, that while we may come from different places and speak in different tongues, our hearts beat as one. In light of recent events the bonds of friendship we made this year will be more important than ever!"

Draco stared at the ground.

"Remember that and Cedric Diggory will not have died in vain, you remember that. And we'll celebrate a boy who was kind and honest and brave and true right to the very end."

My trunk, now packed to the brim with all of my necessities, was ready to be sent on its way. Except this time, I won't be making a trip to my insufferable home in the East. Instead, I was going down South to spend the summer in Wiltshire.

So here we all gathered, the courtyard packed as all wished farewell to one another, including those from Durmstrang and Beauxbatons, who are about to return to their home countries.

Draco was talking to a couple of Durmstrang's. I smiled from a distance but quietly wandered in the direction opposite of him. I already had another plan in mind.

I searched the crowds and eventually found who I was looking for. "Harry," I approached the Gryffindor, Ron sat atop the wall behind him. Hermione was standing a short distance from both.

"Y/N." Harry looked up, his eyes widening in slight surprise.

"Hi." I smile empathetically. "How are you?"

Harry shrugged, "Alright, I suppose."

I tilted my head and shook my head. "Come here." I said, pulling him into my arms for a hug. "I know he was your friend."
