I set my cutlery down on the table top and rose from my seat. Despite having the rest of Slytherin to keep me company during dinner, it just simply didn't feel the same. So, I decided to make my way out of the Great Hall.

However, I'd barely stepped through the doors when I caught a glimpse of dark-hair from the corner of my eye. At first I didn't think much of it, but when I took a second glance over my shoulder, I recognised that wolfish grin at once.

I pretended to not have noticed him and quickened my footsteps. His steps also fastened. I turned the corner into an empty hallway, what made a small whine climb up my throat. No, no, no.

I kept my head high; just like I would if I was with Draco.

"What's the rush, pretty?" An arm suddenly came around my shoulder, what made my body stiffen. "Nothing, Pucey." I said coldly. Adrian titled his head and smirked, "No need to be so cold, darling. I just want to talk to you."

"Well, the feeling isn't mutual."

"Feisty." Adrian looked amused if anything. "So, where's your little boyfriend, Malfoy, hm? Hasn't already moved on, has he?"

"He's gone to the toilet." I lied. "He'll be back any minute, so I suggest you leave."

"Malfoy can wait a minute more." Adrian shrugged.

I drew to a halt. "Excuse me?" I scoffed, "What the hell is that supposed to mean? You bloody perv—,"

Before I could finish my sentence, air was knocked from my chest as my back slammed into the stone wall behind me. "Never speak to me like that," Adrian scowled. "Ever again."

A hand landed on Adrian's shoulder and pulled him around.

"Got a problem here, Pucey?" Cedric asked. He looked down at the Slytherin only a year younger than himself with eyes that could kill.

"Not at all." Adrian wore a sly grin. "Just having a chat with my little friend, Y/N."

"Really?" Cedric tilted his head. "Because that's not what it looked like."

Adrian opened his mouth to speak, but Cedric cut him off.

"You touch her again and Malfoy isn't the only one you're going to have to worry about. Got it?"

Adrian shrugged Cedric off and slinked away, scowling.

Cedric's gaze turned to me, and his eyes that had been so cold only moments ago, were now full of warmth. "Come on, Y/N." He gestured over to himself. "I'll take you back to your common room."

I approached Cedric, a grateful smile on my face. He placed a hand on the small of my back and started to lead me down the corridor. "I'm sorry about that," he apologised. "I don't usually lose my temper."

"Don't worry about it," I attempted to reassure him. "Guys like him don't deserve your patience."

Cedric's face softened. "I know."

After a couple moments of silence, I decided to speak up. "Draco's okay with you, you know?"

Cedric looked down at me in surprise. "He is?"
