"Oh here she comes," Pansy said, her head hung over the leather armrest. She sat around the warmth of the common room fire with Millicent opposite her. "But she doesn't look happy—,"

I stepped over Millicent's grey cat, which was sprawled across the rug in-front of the mantlepiece, and slumped down onto the sofa.

"What's up, sweetie?" Pansy asked, flinging an arm around my shoulder. "McGonagall give you a hard time?"

"This whole place is giving me a hard time." I huff, blowing a curl out of my face. "Aw, honey." Pansy turned onto her side to face me and started to brush my hair back. "You wanna talk about it?"

"Of course I do." I looked over at her, "If I don't I might go mad."

"Spill your guts, hun." Millicent said, leaning over to pick her Russian Blue cat up from the floor.

"Professor McGonagall went to Professor Snape about my behaviour." I start, immediately earning an— "Oh no," from Millicent. "Yeah, that's what I said." I said before continuing. "Which means Snape decided to change my schedule."

"Well what's so bad about that?" Pansy asked.

"Because now I share every lesson with Malfoy."

"Ooh," Both Millicent and Pansy cringed at the same time.

"It gets worse." I add, sinking further into the couch. Pansy and Millicent listened intently. "I also have to share a room with Malfoy."

"Ooh!" Pansy and Millicent cringed even harder this time.

"That's not good..." Millicent gently stroked a hand down my arm. "You guys like... hate each other."

"Really Milli?" I turned my head to smile sarcastically at her. "Really?"

"Yeah..." Millicent nodded slowly. "Hey um... I hate to be the one to break it to you, Y/N but uh— this year might not be the best for you." She said, giving my shoulder a sympathetic pat.

"Really?" I asked sarcastically, again. "Anything else you wish to tell me?"

Millicent shook her head. "Hmm, no. Not really."

"Y/N, maybe you should get some sleep." Pansy advised. "You've had a long day and you might feel better about the whole situation by morning."

"Pansy, I love you, but are you insane?" I frown. "If I sleep in the same room as Malfoy, I'll end up with a belt around my neck by morning."

Pansy grinned.

"And not in a good way!" I quickly added. "He's just... psychotic."

"Funny," Millicent said, opening a packet of crisps. "I swear I've heard him say the same about you."

"Thanks Milli," I said, wearing a false grin.

"You're welcome." Millicent gave me a genuine smile. I don't think she got my sarcasm that time...

"Well, try to look on the bright side." Pansy took my hands in hers. "He's probably annoyed about the situation too. If anything, he'll go out of his way to not provoke you so he can have a peaceful night."

"Malfoy and peaceful do NOT belong in the same sentence." I furrowed my brows.

"Well, tonight it does." Pansy said, rising from the sofa. "Pansyy..." I groaned as she pulled me up and dragged me towards the stairs. She didn't let go until we were outside of my new bedroom door.
