The match had come to a terrific end and now it was time to settle in the Weasley's tent for the night. Spirits were high and laughter was in the air. Fred and George were both laughing and singing, all the whilst they pranced about.
"Doo, dodo, doo do do, doo do do, dooo!"
I sat on a nearby chair, laughing. The Weasley family had all the qualities my own didn't. Warmth, comfort, understanding, love.
"There's no one like Krum!" Ron said, excitement flamed within his eyes. "He's like a bird the way he rides the wind!
"Krumm!" The Twins muttered, flapping their arms and circling Ron.
"He's more than an athlete," Ron said, while Fred and George draped an Irish flag over his shoulders. "He's an artist! I mean, did you see him put Lynch into the ground with the Wronski Feint? It was positively brutal!"
"I think you're in love, Ron." Ginny teased.
"Shut up, you." Ron sneered, while Ginny walked away with a grin.
"Viktor, I love yoou!" The twins broke into the song and Harry joined in seconds later. "Viktor I dooo!" Then, I too, joined in. "When we're apart my heart beats only for youuu!"
George batted his younger brother in the stomach with a pillow. All of the sudden, the ground beneath my feet shook and a chant of voices rose over the air. "Sounds like the Irish have got their pride on!" Fred laughed.
"Stop!" Arthur interrupted, grabbing the pillow from Ron's hand before he could whack George. "Stop it! It's not the Irish. We've gotta get out of here. Now."
"What?" I turned my head, brows furrowed.
"Come on, we better go." Fred murmured, nudging me along. Arthur pulled the tents opening to the side and let us slip out into the night. Immediately, the smell of smoke infiltrated my senses and my eyes reflected the flames around us.
People ran in terror, trampling fire and kicking up sparks. The grounds had become a hellish damnation made of smoke and flames. I looked around, ash floating through the air like dirty snow. The sound of screams made my ears ring.
"Get back to the portkey everybody and stick together!" Arthur said fiercely.
"Fred, George, Ginny is your responsibility. Ron, Hermione, Harry and Y/N, stay close!"Green sparks shot overhead and Arthur pulled his wand from his robes. He disappeared into the crowd in mere seconds. I looked over the mayhem and saw dark silhouettes with pointed hoods coming our way. They held flaming torches and wore anonymous skull-shaped masks.
Fred and George flashed briefly in the crowd, then vanished. Hermione's frantic eyes found Ron, and seconds before she could reach out to us, the crowd whisked them away in the opposite direction. I whipped around to face Harry, but he too had been dragged backwards by the crowd and vanished from sight.
"Harry!" I shouted, but there was no response. I had no choice but to fight through the crowds or else I'd be next. The whole world was spinning and before I could make an escape, a jet of light shot over my head and struck a nearby lamppost. Fires consumed the pole and it fell to the ground; what blocked my path.
"No, no, no..." I whispered to myself, my eyes frantically searching from side to side. I was trapped by the flames. I glanced over my shoulder and felt my stomach shrink. The cloaked figures were coming my way.
