"Good mooorning," a voice chimed in my ear. Suddenly, the tips of someone's fingers appeared just behind my ear and began to tickle me awake.

"Malfoy, get away from me—," I hissed, rolling onto my side. Malfoy didn't listen. He brought his hands under my arms and tickled me until I was wriggling and had no choice but to open my eyes and look at him. "Now!"

Malfoy drew back his hands, laughing. I managed to sit upright, though my eyes were still heavy and fatigue weighed down my limbs. "First thing in the morning and you're already shouting at me?" He frowned in fake offense. "Unforgivable."

I picked up a pillow and landed a soft blow in his face. Malfoy yanked the pillow out of my arms, amusement still visible on his face. "Ooh, feisty girl." He only teased further.

"Just shut up and get dressed," I murmured, placing my tired face in my hands. Malfoy's footsteps withdrew from the bed, and a moment later, the bathroom door opened and closed.

I took my face out of my hands and stared at the door. That boy. That damn boy.

On the whole way to Defence Against the Dark Arts, Malfoy kept stepping on my heels. At one point, I even turned my head and spat a — "You're so annoying!" at him.

Malfoy simply grinned.

There was no sign of our new Professor when we entered the classroom. The board was blank and the desk was barren, aside from a couple insect-filled pots. Blaise turned in his seat and waved us over.

I was about to slip down in the available space besides him, but Malfoy grabbed my wrist and pointed towards the empty table in front. "Look, there's more room."

Before I could even respond, Malfoy took my bag from over my shoulder and placed it underneath the table. He gestured for me to sit. I looked over my shoulder at Blaise, who appeared amused more than anything. So, I turned back to Malfoy and sat down.

By the time we got situated, the classroom door swung open. Mad-Eye Moody limped down the aisle, his mechanical eye scanning our faces, the other staring at the front board.

He pulled out a white stick of chalk from his back pocket and wrote "Moody" on the board. "Ex-Auror, Ministry Malcontent and your new Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher. I'm here because Dumbledore asked me. End of story, goodbye, the end. Any questions?"

The class was dead silent. I looked over at Malfoy, who was already looking at me, and grinned. I slowly lifted a hand into the air. "Professor?" I tilted my head, feigning innocence in my voice.

Everyone's heads turned. All of them knew what I was up to, yet their faces were pleading; "Please don't do it."

"Yes, Miss L/N?"

"I have a question," I lowered my hand, still forcing a smile. Moody hummed for me to go on. "Why did Dumbledore ask you to come here?"

Moody didn't answer. He simply grabbed his cane and started to limp across the room towards our table. "Y/N—," Malfoy hissed quietly, but was interrupted when Moody slammed his palms flat against the table.

"Do you seriously think I haven't heard about you, Miss L/N?"

"I dunno, maybe." I said, innocently batting my lashes.
