"You don't need makeup," Draco wrapped his arms around me from behind. He dropped his head against my shoulder and pouted at me through the mirror. "You're already gorgeous."

"I like wearing it, Draco." I assured, running the mascara wand through my lashes. "Makes me feel pretty."

"You are pretty." He frowned.

I turned my head to the side and pressed my lips against his cheek. "Let's go," I whispered. There was an ongoing party in the common room below since Slytherin offered to play as host. Hogwarts had achieved yet another victory in the Tournament, so it only made sense we celebrated.

Draco grinned. He took me by my hand and led me into the dark stairwell; a neon glow visible down below. I played with the expensive necklace which dangled around my neck.

When we stepped out into the common room, an immediate, dark green glow set upon my face. I looked around at the sea of dancing bodies which swayed to the music; while others stood around the sofas, glasses in hand and couples snogging on the black, leather sofas.

"Helloo, friends!" Blaise stumbled towards us, a glass in hand. "Firewhisky?" He offered, pushing it towards us.

I shook my head. "I'm alright."

"Suit yourself," Blaise shrugged before he disappeared into the crowd. "What's up?" Draco asked, placing his hand on my upper arm. My shoulders were uptight and my back was visibly tense.

I shrugged and whispered— "What if Adrian's here?"

Draco's hand protectively squeezed my arm. "He won't do anything." He attempted to reassure me. "Not when I'm here."

I flashed him a grateful smile. "Thank you."

"Don't thank me," Draco said, guiding me in the direction of the makeshift bar so we could sit down on one of the stools. "It's the bare minimum."

"Well, it's rare for you to commit to that." I teased, prodding him in his chest. "Just sit down," Draco grinned as he pulled out a stool. I sat down and watched him take one beside me.

"Vodka please," a voice emitted from the opposite side of me. I looked to my left and saw of course, Adrian Pucey, talking to the lad behind the counter. He must've felt my gaze because he turned his head and wore a toothy grin. "L/N, looking nice."

"Eyes off, Pucey." Draco sneered.

Adrian looked over my shoulder. "Ah, Malfoy." He tilted his head, a taunting glint in his eye. "Not intimidated, are you?"
