There was a gentle, ticklish sensation on the tip of my nose. At first, I shook it off in my sleep. But the more it happened, the more my nose reactively scrunched and my mind had no choice but to drag me to full consciousness.

When my eyes fluttered to reveal the new day, I saw Malfoy laying on his side, facing me. "Morning," he whispered. I rubbed a clenched fist over my eye as he leaned forward and pressed a gentle kiss on the tip of my nose.

"Morning..." I whispered in a quiet, morning voice. My eyes were still heavy from the weight of my deep slumber. "Have-have you been doing that this whole time?" I asked, referring to the little kiss.

Malfoy slowly nodded. His white-blond hair was all over the place and there were tiny little bags under his eyes. Though his smile lived nonetheless.

"Oh..." I looked down and stared at his chest, since I didn't know where else to look. Malfoy gently grabbed onto my waist and rolled over so he was on top of me and I was on my back. Now, I had no choice but to look up at him.

"Why?" He tilted his head. "Didn't you like it?"

"No, no— I did." I whispered, feeling a sudden warmth in my veins. "I just— I didn't expect it."

"Expect the unexpected." Malfoy grinned. He leaned forward so his lips touched my nose, but before he could press a proper kiss onto it, the lower-half of his body brushed up against mine.

His face froze and a tiny gasp was forced from between my lips.

Malfoy's hands balled into fists and his brows drew together. I gazed up at him, lips ajar and a hand on his shoulder as a long, shivering gasp was forced from his lips. We both stared into each other's eyes, unsure of what to say or do.

"Um..." I whispered, slowly taking my hand off his shoulder. "I think... I think we should get something to eat."

"Yeah..." Malfoy breathed, dropping his head. "Yeah, I agree."

He briefly glanced down at himself. I heard Malfoy curse under his breath as he carefully picked himself up from the bed. When he finally sat back down, now upright and a couple feet away from me, I, myself sat up.

I brushed my hair back, still breathing heavily.

To say we were both in shock was an understatement.

It was rather quiet on our way to the Great Hall. Malfoy kept fiddling with his tie and his belt; and every now and then he would check the pockets of his robe. Though when we walked inside, energies changed.

It was incredibly festive. Three, large fir trees; all of which were sugar-coated in snow had been set up front, and hundreds of twinkling lights and baubles covered them. The sweet smell of roasting cocoa filled the air, and stacks of pancakes, waffles and crumpets all lined the house tables.

Malfoy sat down further down the table from everyone else, which again, was unusual. I followed him and sat down. For the first ten minutes, he looked awfully suspicious, so at least I confronted him about it.

"What's up?"

Malfoy took his lip between his teeth, as though he was biting back a grin. He slid a porcelain hand into his pocket, and seconds later, pulled out a small box. It was wrapped in dark green and topped with a red bow. "It's for you," he said, placing it in my palm. I looked up at him, smiling in awe. "But don't open it yet—," Malfoy added. "Not until Christmas Eve."
