Possibly one of the most stressful days of your life, after an entire weeks speculation and worrying you'd decided to visit the doctors, you really couldn't put it off any longer. The shock that had ran through your body when the doctor had confirmed you were infact 5 weeks pregnant was unbelievable.

The hardest part was knowing you'd have to tell Michael. You had no possible idea how he would react, he could be fantastic, he could freak out.

You were laying in bed that night after going to bed early, all the boys were over and as usual doing their loud flamboyant things and were going nuts on a round of Call of Duty. You'd been too nervous to speak all day and had faked illness to get away from them, crawling slowly into your bed and wrapping yourself in the blankets. Not long after you'd settled in the door creaked open and the bed dipped as Michael layed down next to you and wrapped one arm around your cocoon of blankets. "What's up baby?" He whispered.

"Mm nothing." You blew him off.

"Cmon you can't lie to me. I know you're not ill because you're always grumpy when you're ill. Something's up, tell me?" He asked sweetly. You took a deep breath and shrugged out of the blankets, sitting up and folding your legs before instructing Michael to do the same. He sat up and moved so he was sat in front of you and took your hands into his own. You had to tell him, it was now or ever. "I went to the doctors today..." You began and immediately his expression changed.

"What's wrong? Babe you're alright aren't you?" He asked concerned.

"No, no, no its not... I'm fine. But erm... I'm- I'm pregnant." You said quietly, your voice barely audible. His entire body language changed as his mouth dropped open and he went rigid. He stared at you, not saying anything and then his eyes dropped to your stomach. He didn't move. "Mikey? Say something?" You urged, the silence unbearable.

"No. There's no way you're pregnant. You can't be. It can't be."

"Its a lot to take in." You said in understanding.

"No. I can't do this. What the fuck? I'm not ready for a baby! I can't be a dad! Y/N we can't do this. We can't. No. I can't do this." He stressed out and sprang up from the bed, not bothering to look back as he left the room. There was a thudding of footsteps, slamming of a door and then silence. Michael was gone. You couldn't move, couldn't even think. Michael had reacted in the worst possible way and it hurt, it was like a hole had formed in your heart. Suddenly there was a light rapping at the door as Calum poked his head around the door. "Y/N? Are you okay?" He asked gently and his words sent you over the edge, you broke out into a sob and Calum rushed over quickly, putting his arm around you. "Cmon, let's go for a walk." He insisted and you got up willingly, craving fresh air.

Yours and Michaels apartment was situated close to the beach, so Calum and you headed in that direction. As you walked you explained to him what had happened and reached the end of your explanation as you both sat down on the sand. The sea was crashing lightly and the moon reflected off of the water creating a pale light across the shore. "Y/N I know it seems kinda sucky but he'll come around.

"How do you know that Calum?"

"Because, Mike is one of my best friends. He loves you, more than absolutely anything and I know him. I'm sure right now he's sat somewhere hating himself for what just happened. I promise, he'll come back." Calum smiled softly in reassurance.

"And what if he doesn't?"

"Trust me. He will. Have a little faith." Calum just smiled wider. "Looks like I was right..." His grin faded to a softer, more compassionate look he looked to the right of you. You turned to where he was looking and sure enough, there he was, stood with his hands secured tightly in the pockets of his jean jacket and his head bowed slightly, was Michael. Calum turned and pressed a soft kiss to your forehead before giving your hand a small squeeze. "Told ya. I'm always right, I'll leave you two to talk." He smirked and stood up, brushing the sand off of his jeans and heading home. Calum really was an amazing friend.

Quietly Michael came and took Calum's place, not saying anything as he looked wistfully at the soft waves lapping up at the sand. "Y/N... From the bottom of my heart, I'm so sorry. I'm so, so sorry. I was such a dick, I wasn't expecting that at all, I never would've guessed that was what you would tell me. That's no excuse, I took it the wrong way and I just panicked, everything got to me all at once and I freaked out, please love? Believe me when I say I'm sorry." He spoke clearly but sadly, like he was disappointed in himself.

"Its okay. But we have to talk about this..." You told him, his apology was beautiful and heartfelt but that didn't get rid of the elephant in the room.

"I've been thinking about it since I walked out. I started thinking about being a father, that I have no idea how to raise a child, how to take care of a baby, I don't know anything. Then I realized something I do know, I know that I love you more than anything else in this entire world and I know that being with you forever is what I want. Its not the perfect timing but you're the perfect person, I couldn't think of anyone more amazing to have a baby with and then everything made sense. I don't have to know how to be a father, I just have to know that I love you and that together we can do anything." Tears welled up once again as Michael finished and you pressed yourself to him tightly.

"Michael Clifford, what did I do to deserve someone as amazing as you? I love you and I can't wait for us to be parents."

"I know. I want nothing more than to have a life with you and to have a child with you. I love you, Y/N. Never forget that."
