*Michaels POV*

"Oh my god this is such a ridiculous argument Michael!" Y/N yelled at me as she slammed her hands down on the kitchen table. I was not being ridiculous.

"No! It isn't! You forgot to feed Graham for three days the poor guy could've starved to death!" I slammed my hands to mimic her. How could she forget to feed the cat for three damn days? "You care more about going out dancing with your stupid friends than taking care of our cat."

"Its just a cat!" I gasped, pulling my hand to my mouth. Just a cat?! Y/N wiped her forehead with her hand and swallowed heavily like she was struggling with something.

"He is not just a cat. His name is Graham and he is my baby!" I seethed.

"He's an animal Mike, he can fend for himself."

"No he's a spoilt little prince, he doesn't know how to live in the wild. He was raised in LA!" Y/N took a step back and tried to regain her composure, she looked kind of ill and I felt bad but this was important. You can't just forget to feed the cat.

"Mike please just stop." Y/N grimaced, clutching one hand to her stomach.

"The whole fake sickness thing won't fly here." I grinned at her smugly, whenever we would argue one of the things she would do when she was in the wrong was pull a sickie, not today. She frowned heavily, her dark brows knitting together furiously as she took in a large amount of air and breathed out through her nose.

She looked at me quickly and let out a small groan before suddenly collapsing to the floor. My heart began to pound as I ran to her, crouching down quickly to inspect her. "Y/N! Y/N!" I urged, looking around crazily hoping she would pop up and tell me it was a joke. "Babe, wake up. Baby..." My voice was barely a frantic whisper as I tried to get her to open her eyes, what was wrong? My eyes stung tightly as I welled up and fought the strong urge not to cry.

I hurriedly pulled my phone out of my phone and dialled the emergency number, choking out into the speaker that we needed an ambulance.

It all happened quickly after that, within minutes the emergency people arrived and whisked her unconscious body into the back of the ambulance as I shouted at them to hurry and screamed at them what had happened. Shortly after we had arrived at the ER and she was being pushed into a room and I was being held back, told to wait outside, forced to sit in an uncomfortable plastic chair surrounded by inconsolable people all awaiting news of their loved ones. I made sure to text the guys and let them know what was going on, Y/N was just as much their friend as she was mine.

Every time a door swung open I would jump to my feet, hoping it was news of Y/N. "Michael?" A familiar voice spoke and I lifted my head, to be greeted by a concerned looking Calum. I immediately went to him and hugged him, not caring who was looking or what they would say and I couldn't help my overwhelming emotions from overflowing and I silently sobbed into Calum's shoulder. "Its gonna be alright man." Calum said reassuringly, slapping a comforting hand against my back.

"We were arguing! Right before she passed out... I feel terrible." I sniffed, using my hand to wipe my nose.

"Its not your fault Mike."

"But what if it is? I just... I love her so much, I can't even handle the thought of anything happen to her, I need her." I huffed out, trying to avoid crying again.

"Mr. Clifford?" A gruff voice called, I turned to see a middle aged male doctor, his pinks were lightly pink and he had an air of kindness about him that made me feel at ease.

"Yeah, yeah that's me." I said, walking over to him so we could speak clearly.

"Y/N is going to be fine. She was severely dehydrated most likely from a large alcohol intake and she hasn't eaten properly in a while. She's sleeping now so you're more than welcome to visit her but we are going to be keeping her for a few days because she sustained a mild concussion when she fell." The doctor smiled kindly, placing a reassuring hand on my shoulder before taking off at a brisk pace, a clipboard dangling from his hand.

Without hesitation I walked into the room Y/N was in and felt a sharp pang in my heart when I saw her laying there, attached to machines. I took a seat next to her bed and lightly took her hand in mine. "Baby I'm so sorry." I whispered to her even though she probably couldn't hear me. "I feel like this is my fault for putting so much pressure on you all the time. I promise we won't argue anymore, I promise to take care of you properly. I promise. I promise..." I took a deep breath and the temptation to cry arose again but I fought it off. I placed a delicate kiss on the back of her soft hand and made a promise to myself to never hurt her again.
