Chapter 11

Blake pov

I lay down on the sand taking in the warm Texas rays and the sounds of the busy beach when I'm interrupted by something blocking my rays. I open my eyes to see Caroline standing over me

 "yes care?" I say 

"SPILL" she demands but I genuinely have no idea what she's talking about 

"oh come on girl did you really think you could hide it from me a best friend always knows"

 "okay look care you know I would tell you if there was somebody but genuinely there's no one now sit down or move you're blocking the sun" I plead with her instant ass

 "okay girl I'll let it slide for right now but by the time you leave you will tell me" I roll my eyes at her 

We spend the next couple hours catching up "so I went to a party last week and met this douche named kyle" 

"ahha I knew it so kyles the guy who has you all giddy" she interrupts me trying to tell her about kyle 

"did you completely miss the part where I called him a douche" I say

 "oh yeah, that would defeat the giddy wouldn't it" a look of defeat appearing on her face

 "yeah Care now shut up and let me continue it takes a ... turn" I finish telling her all about the party and even the days after 

"Ash? Like Ashton Baylor?"

 "yeah" I confirm 

"our Ashton he was the one who helped you and made sure you were okay after ... that" she says in disbelief 

"yes caroline that Ashton"

 "you realize he hasn't been the nicest to you like ever" she says referring to me and Ashton's past 

believe it or not, it hasn't always been laughs and nice comments between me and Ashton there was a time when we were always at each others throats about everything whether it was that he looked at me sideways or that I took the last cookie we were always fighting it wasn't till this past year that things changed 

 "yes I know in the past he wasn't always the nicest to me but he's changed it's weird I know but I could get used to it" I assure her 

"OMG that's it" she yells 

"what? what's it" 

"he's the boy he's the giddy" 

"you're out of your mind Care Ashtons nothing more than an old friend"

 "yeah, an old friend who's putting a little pep into your step" I raise both my eyebrows at her giving her kinda are you serious look

 "DINNER!!" we hear little voices yelling from the deck 

"saved by the bell" caroline says and I couldn't agree more 

thank god they have perfect timing we make our way up the beach onto the deck and into the kitchen "go change for dinner girls" Heather and my mom tell us we make our way up the stairs and into our rooms I open my suitcase and pull out that old 1st-year hoodie of Ashtons it's just long enough to cover me up completely. I open my door and make eye contact with Caroline exiting her room 

"well isn't that cute" she says

 "what?" I ask forgetting the obvious 

"you're wearing his hoodie" she points out 

"oh shut up Care I always wear this it's comfy"

 "whatever girl but I know the real truth" I roll my eyes at her
