Chapter 63

Blakes pov

As I leave Ashtons room I hear my mom yell my name from downstairs. I follow her calls to the kitchen 

"somebodies here for you" she says pointing to the table 

"Lucka?!" I say rushing over to hug him as he stands 

"Hey Blake I've missed you" he says as I let go 

"yeah what have you been up to" 

"you know same old same old but um I actually wanted to ask you something" he says looking over my shoulder to my mom 

"what is it" I ask 

"let's go outside" he says walking towards the door I follow behind him shutting the door softly behind me "so uh blake we've been friends for a while and there's always been something I've wanted to ask you I just never knew how" 

"it's okay Lucka you can ask me" I say laying my hand on his arm to comfort him 

"well, I guess what I'm trying to say is Blake would you maybe want to sometime go out with me like a date?" I retract my hand off him 

"oh, Lucka I'm so sorry but im kind of seeing someone right now" 

"oh no problem it's okay" he says brushing it off and walking back into the house. When I come back in my mom is eagerly waiting at the counter 

"so?" she says 

"did you know he was gonna do that" I ask her 

"I had an idea" 

"Mom!" I yell at her 

"so what did you say" 

"I just saw Lucka in the hall what did you say" Ashton asks as he enters 

"I said no" 

"what why" 

"to what?" Ashton asks 

"I'm kind of seeing someone right now" I tell my mom 

"you are?" my mom questions 

"you are" Ashton says 

"I am" I say 

"well, what's he like" my mom asks as Ashtons sits down awaiting my response 

"well he's kind and sweet, handsome, strong, my ideal man really" I say smiling at Ashton "but he can be a bit of a dick sometimes" 

"oh, and why haven't I met this ideal man" my mom asks 

"we're keeping it low-key right now" 

"are you two getting serious?" she asks

"Who's getting serious?" Heather asks as she enters the room 

"apparently Blake has a new boyfriend she was just telling me and Ashton about" I look to Ashton to see his reaction nothing he's thoroughly enjoying me answering questions about our relationship 

"so are you two serious?" Heather asks me 

"Yeah sort of" I say my voice rising with a smile on my face "he got me a promise ring" I say holding up my hand noticing my ring is gone shit it left it on Ashtons counter 

"here" Ashton says pulling the ring out of his pocket and slipping it on my hand our eyes meeting like the moment when he first gave it to me we both take notice of our mothers gaze at Ashton seeing the pieces connect in their heads he rationalizes it "I found it on the counter last night and forgot to give it to you" I hold my hand out so that they can see it and get distracted 

"it's pretty" my mom says

"not traditional but cute" heather comments 

"maybe it's a symbol of their relationship" Ashton says defensively 

"um yes exactly Ashton its a symbol of our relationship" 

"a star?" she questions 

"yeah because we went stargazing on our first date" I lie to them 

"what are we all talking about" Josh asks as he walks in the room oh shit I think looking to Ashton who I assume is thinking the same thing 

"Blakes promise ring from her new boyfriend" my mom informs him 

"promise ring?" he questions angrily looking at us making Ashton slouch in his seat and I become timid 

"yes" Ashton says 

"I need to talk to you later" Josh says towards me but talking to Ashton 

"you cant im leaving with Ashton" 

"you're going to new york too" he asks 

"yes" I say quietly Josh leaves the room clearly mad at the both of us not informing him.
