Chapter 55

A while later im awaken by a knock at my door "Ak dinners ready" Caroline says through the door

"Okay I'll be down in a minute"

"okay tell Ash" she says walking away when I can't hear her footsteps any longer I lift the blanket

"Love time to wake up" I say to Ashton playing with his hair

"no" he whines to me

"yes it's dinner we have to go" I say trying to get out from under him but he grabs my hips holding me down

"do I have to go"

"yes sleepy now get up"I say removing his hands and getting up I kiss his head and walk to the door "I'll be waiting next to an empty seat with your name on it" I say before slipping out the door and down to dinner entering the kitchen I see Josh and make a beeline to him

"Hey" I say

"hey" he says monotony I sigh

"what happened earlier"

"Nothing for you to worry about" he says

"I think it is you two never fight what's wrong" I say trying to cokes it out of him

"None of your business now drop it" he says starting to walk away but I grab his arm forcing him back to me

"don't walk away I'm trying to help"

"let go or so help me god I will"

"if you finish that sentence I'll make you regret it" I hear Ashton say roughly from behind me josh yanks his arm out of my grasp and walks away

"Are you okay?" Ashton asks me

"I'm fine" I say to him then turn to heather "wheres caroline" I ask her

"upstairs putting the littles down" she tells me

"I'll be right back" I say to Ashton going upstairs I search for caroline finding her exiting Maria's room "hey" I say

"shhh what's up" she says

"I need that girls night pronto"

"okay why the urgency"

"Ashton and Josh are fighting and I need your help" she shakes her head

"Okay well do it tomorrow"

"why not tonight" I ask her

"tonights me and josh's date night it also gives me time to talk to him"

"so your not gonna be here all night"

"no we're gonna go see a midnight showing"

"perfect" I say under my breath

"what"

"nothing let's go eat" I say heading back to the kitchen when we get in there everybodys already sat in their typical spots moms on the ends with Ashton and Josh staring directly at each other wanting to kill one another caroline and I take our seats next to our boys and start dinner

"so guys how's school going" my mom asks

"fine" we both answer

"Blake how are you feeling about the new semester"

"ask Ashton he should know" Josh mumbles

"What?" my mom says but brushes it off

"good ready for my last semester of university"

"Ashton are you nervous about your big race"

"Ask Blake" Josh says

"what's that supposed to mean" Ashton says jumping down his throat

"nothing just you two seem to be getting awfully close lately so she should know"

"why would she know how I feel"

"I think she knows how you feel in many ways like you know how she feels you know inside" im taken back by his words Josh just eluded that me his sister and Ashton his best friend have been intimate together I look to caroline and she has wide eyes as well I grab my phone out of my pants pocket and text her under the table

"told you" I send

she texts back "This is bad omg"

I place my hand on Ashton's leg to calm him down he lets out a breath and goes back to eating the rest of dinner is spent in silence with high tensions after dinner caroline and I help clean up while the boys go in separate directions

"what was that about at dinner" caroline ask me

"I would tell you but" she interrupts

"girls night"

"exactly if I told you now we'd have nothing to talk about"

"okay in the meantime imma try and get it out of josh"

"good luck with that he won't even talk to me about it I only know because of Ashton"

"then I'll just" I interrupt her

"don't bother he won't tell you it uh personal"

"okay"

"Just go have fun tonight" I say to her

"okay" she says
