Chapter 22

Blake pov

I wake up in my room it's still dark out I roll over to look at my phone 1:30 am 

"Ashton" I whisper "Ashton" I say a bit louder I pat around my bed where he's supposed to be he's not there where is he

I get out of my bed and walk out of my room the house is quiet Caroline, Josh, and Lucka should be back by now I walk down the stairs and see a small light on through the kitchen I walk towards it when I enter the kitchen the light gives me a pounding headache I rub my temple and continue I see it's the deck light on but I see no one I slide open the door and walk out sliding it closed behind me 

"oh it's you" I hear beside me making me jump a little bit

 "Sorry didn't mean to scare you" I turn to see Ashton sitting on the couch on the deck 

"there you are. Why'd you leave?" I ask him

 "couldn't sleep" he tells me

 "how long have you been out here" I ask 

"10-20 minutes maybe" he says

 "oh so not that long" I say

"Yeah. how long have you been awake" he asks me 

 "5 minutes maybe" I tell him

 "so my leaving didn't wake you" he asks 

 "no I don't know what did" I say walking over to sit next to him

 "Why couldn't you sleep" I ask Ashton staring out at the ocean

 "guess I'm just nervous" he says

 "nervous about what" I ask

"school, racing, life, you, me" he says

"what about you and me" I ask him 

"I don't know maybe that when we go back to school things won't be the same as they are here" he says 

 "well what are things here now" I ask 

 "I don't know Blake what did you call it a situationship" he says 

 "Ashton I was just saying that to caroline what we have is just complicated" I say 

"why is it complicated Blake" he asks me 

"because of you and me and josh and our moms and our friends and" I give him a glare exhaling all the pent up air in my lungs "Vivian" I tell him 

"the only people that matter in this equation is us you and me" he says 

 "not josh or Vivian?" I question him

 "well clearly I don't want to hurt Josh but it's what you want that's what he told Lucka and Vivian doesn't matter" he says 

 "what do you mean told Lucka" I question 

"he asked Josh if he could ask you out and Josh said it's untimely up to you" he tells me 

"really Josh really said it's up to me who I date" I question that doesn't sound like my brother

"well Josh said no but then he said it was up to you" he says that's more like my brother 

"well then" I say leaning over to kiss Ashton as my lips touch his he melts into me like he's chocolate and I'm the fire I pull away 

"Does this mean" I start to ask

 "it doesn't have to mean anything Blake" he says kissing me again.

 We sit on the deck all night just talking like old friends "remember in freshman year of high school when all the parents went out of town" Ashton asks me 

"oh my god yes that was so embarrassing" I say flustered with embarrassment 

"so you remember" he asks 

"How could I not I was a total idiot for doing that" I say

 "that's the moment I knew" he tells me

"knew what" I ask

"that I wanted this" he says gesturing between us "you" his words make me smile 

"so you weren't totally repulsed by me" I ask surprised that he felt that way all these years  

"How could I be it was wow" he says

"so if you liked me then why didn't you say anything why'd you date all those girls" I ask him

 "the same reason I can't yell it right now Josh and I only dated all those girls to make you jealous" he says

 "well mission accomplished" I say

 "you were actually jealous?" he asks me  

 "yeah I had like the biggest crush on you all throughout high school" i say making Ashton fall silent till he's not he stands up on the couch right next to me and yells "I LIKE BLAKE STONE!" I laugh at his sudden burst of feeling

 "omg Ashton" I say tugging him down onto the cushion

 "what" he says 

 "you're ridiculous" I tell him

 "only for you baby" he says pulling me into him.
