Chapter 64

Astons pov

I knock on Blake's door leaning against the frame "are you ready to go darling?" I ask her as she turns to me she nods as she walks closer 

"are you ready to go darling?" she throws the question back at me 

"as ready as I'll ever be" I say leaning down to kiss her 

"Ashton" I hear josh's voice behind me stopping our kiss I roll my eyes and turn to him 

"yes" I say 

"We need to talk come" he says 

"go to the car I'll be down in a second" I tell Blake leaning back down to kiss her 

"now!" Josh yells interrupting us yet again 

"go before he drags you" Blake tells me smiling, taking our bags as she walks away from me. I walk over to Josh leaned up against the wall 

"Why didn't you tell me" he asks 

"about what?" I ask him 

"everything new york, the promise ring" he says 

"no offense man but I didn't think it concerned you" 

"How could it not concern me that's my little sister" 

"well, clearly your little sister didn't think so either because she didn't tell you. If anything I thought you'd be happy" 

"why would I be happy" 

"because now there's a spoken commitment now you have proof you won't lose either one of us" 

"has she even told you yet?" 

"told me what" 

"that she loves you" 

"no, but I don't care about that" 

"Ashton you can't seriously stand here and tell me that you don't care that the girl that you claim to be in love with hasn't said it back" 

"i-i" I stutter 

"that's what I thought" he says walking away ending the conversation ending the confrontation.

I don't care, I'm giving her time to say it. I know she's going to I can't force it but josh is right it does bother me why hasn't she said it yet? I think as I walk downstairs not paying attention to where I'm going bumping into her 

"whoa are you okay" she asks me 

"yeah uh we need to get going" I say looking around picking up the only bags I see and heading outside to the car moments later a whole crowd comes barling out the door onto the driveway 

"did you think you could leave without saying goodbye" Nicole asks me hoping I think to myself as she wraps me into a hug it only lasting for a few moments before caroline intrudes 

"Could I borrow him for a second" she asks Nicole dragging me away into a semi-secluded area 

"Listen here mister you break her I break you" 

"okay caroline" I say chuckling under my breathe 

"I'm not kidding Ash" she says giving me crazy eyes and starting to creep me out. 

I slowly walk away from her and get into the car hoping it will give everyone the hint that it's time for us to leave I watch out the passenger window as Blake exchanges goodbyes, see you later and I love yous hugging everyone multiple times as I sit alone with my thoughts how come she can say it to them and not me why hasn't she said it to me I start the car farthing the hint that it's time to leave I see her backing away from them towards the car finally she gets in sitting down next to me I look over to her not saying a word putting the car in drive I leave heading to the airport we sit in silence most of the ride josh's words bouncing off the sides of my head 'has she told you yet?' why? Why? Why? There has to be a reason it can't just be unjustified 

"why what?" she asks me 

"huh?" 

"you said why I was just wondering why what" 

"oh uh nothing really" 

"Ashton, you can tell me if somethings bothering you" 

"Why haven't you said it yet" I ask her 

"said what?" 

"I love you" 

"what did josh say to you? Is this why you've been so distracted?" she asks 

"it doesn't matter what he said why haven't you" 

"I don't know" 

"There has to be a reason" 

"Ashton I don't know" 

"then say it. right now" 

"I can't!" she yells the car falling silent once more the rest of the way, not another word muttered to each other just the rolls of the tires on asphalt. As we walk into the airport still not talking a guy comes up to us holding a sign I look down to read it 'The Baylors' 

"are you Mr. and Mrs.Baylor" he asks 

"um yes we are" I say 

"come with me" he says walking off I look down to Blake checking on her awaiting her response for being called Mrs.Baylor she looks back up to me our eyes meeting I feel her slip her hand into mine our fingers intertwined as we start to follow this man 

"I could get used to that" she says not looking at me I snap my head down to her in disbelief a goofy child-like smile appearing on my face "me too" I say.
