The Gryffinfour returned to the common room after leaving Defense Against the Dark arts, and began their homework. Hermione and Aurora quietly worked on each of their classwork, while Ron and Harry tried to copy each of them, only for them to be told off by their friends.
"Honestly, Harry, Ron, you shouldn't be making this stuff up," Hermione tutted when the boys started coming up with scenarios for their Divination homework.
"Come on, Hermione," Ron sighed, "the old hag of a professor we have isn't going to notice."
Hermione pursed her lips in annoyance, but didn't protest. Aurora sighed, but didn't say anything, especially since she did that too.
Aurora got bored with her homework and began thinking about Pierre. She'd broken up with him over the summer, through letter. Pierre got really upset about it, but Aurora didn't really care, seeing as she didn't even consider them dating in the first place.
After she'd sent the letter, she received one in reply from him, saying that she would pay for this. Aurora wasn't really sure what Pierre meant by that, and she didn't really want to find out.
"Let's go to dinner," Ron said, standing up and stretching, "I wonder what the house elves made for dinner."
Hermione abruptly gasped, and dropped her books, "House elves?"
The remaining three of the Gryffindor stared at her in confusion, wondering how someone who read so many books didn't study something about house elves at Hogwarts.
"Yeah... how did you think the food was made?" Ron asked, raising an eyebrow.
Hermione huffed- but didn't say anything- apparently not having an answer to his question, for once.
"This- this is ridiculous! I refuse to eat the food here! It was made by slave labor!" Hermione shouted.
Aurora blinked.
"I'm going to the library," Hermione announced. "Aurora, do you want to come with me?"
Aurora was really hungry, especially after missing lunch to ask her Arithmancy teacher some questions, however she didn't want to say no to her friend.
"Erm... I-"
Hermione didn't give her time to answer, and grabbed her wrist, dragging her to the library.

The two friends spent the remainder of their time before curfew looking through books about house elves. A few minutes before they needed to be back to the Gryffindor common room, Hermione had them check out books. When they got to the common room, they resumed reading everything they took out of the library.
Before they knew it, it was the next morning. Aurora and Hermione ended up not getting any sleep. Hermione didn't seem to mind, although she seemed a bit tired, she was still her usual self, however Aurora was dragging along, looking like she could collapse at any moment.
She already hasn't been able to get more than a couple hours of sleep over previous nights, as her visions plagued her mind, but that seemed more calming than straining her eyes for hours at a time.
After the two went up to their dorm to get ready for the day, they went to the Great Hall to meet Ron and Harry for breakfast. Hermione suggested that they went back to the library throughout breakfast, however this time Aurora had to protest and say that she was really hungry (since she was).
When they got to their usual spots and sat down, they received questioning looks from their friends, however Ron and Harry didn't say anything, since they didn't really want to get involved.
"So now you're eating," Ron said, stirring up an argument between him and Hermione.
"I've decided that there are better ways to stand up for elf rights than not eating," the bushy haired girl huffed.
"Yeah, and because you were hungry," Ron replied, as Aurora attempted to hold back a snort.
Ron and Hermione began to bicker, as Aurora and Harry continued to eat their breakfast, watching their friends for a source of entertainment. Suddenly, Hermione gasped and ran off, muttering that she had to go to the library.
"Mental that one, I'm telling you," Ron sighed as Harry looked at him with an amused expression. For once he wasn't oblivious and noticed that Ron might have a crush on the Granger girl.

The remainder of the Gryffinfour didn't see Hermione until a couple minutes before their first lesson of the day. Hermione ran up to them, painting and lightly sweating, looking hopeful.
"I've decided to start an organization," she abruptly announced after catching her breath.
Aurora, Harry, and Ron weren't really interested, but pretended to listen anyway.
"It will be called S.P.E.W. Society for the Promotion of Elfish Welfare," she informed them, "I'm planning to create badges this afternoon, and hand them out to people in order to spread the word. It will cost 2 sickles to join, and all money will go to helping elves."
Aurora didn't have the heart to tell Hermione that the house elves like working.
"Ronald, you will be the treasurer," Hermione told him, and handed him a metal can, " you will use this to collect any profits we make. Aurora, you'll be the Vice President, and Harry, you'll be the secretary."
A few moments later, the students were let into the classroom and all thoughts about the organization were let out the window.
I don't own Harry Potter. The series belongs to J.K. Rowling. I only own Aurora and anything you don't recognize from the books or movies.
