The Gryffinfour were walking with Hagrid through the Forbidden Forest the next day. Harry was telling them about how he found out what the third task was, when Harry and Aurora spotted Crouch lying behind a tree, bedraggled and incoherent.
"Hagrid!" Harry called. The cheerful atmosphere throughout them immediately vanished.
Hagrid, Hermione, and Ron walked over to them. Hagrid's face noticeably paled, and he instructed for Harry and Aurora to go get Dumbledore.
The two do as he said, both worried and wondering what was going on. The found their headmaster walking through the courtyard.
"Sir!" Aurora said, calling for Professor Dumbledore.
"It's Mr. Crouch! We found him in the woods!"
The older man looked at the two of them.
"Please return to your common room. I will assess the situation," he instructed them.

"What do you think happened to Crouch?" Ron asked the group. The four were in the Gryffindor common room, which was empty except for a few seventh years.
"I dunno. Do you think he did something to upset Krum?" Aurora asked.
"Maybe he was upset about his scores for the different tasks?" Ron guessed.
Hermione brushed past the thought. "Was it even Krum? He could have been under the imperious curse."
The friends kept talking, wondering what happened.
