A couple weeks after the... incident in Professor Dumbledore's office, Aurora found herself in Professor McGonagall's. No, she hadn't gotten caught for her number of pranks she did around the castle, and no, she wasn't getting punishment along with a stern talking to for punching Malfoy after he made fun of the Weasley's again.

Aurora didn't think she could be in Professor McGonagall's office for anything worse than that, however, apparently, she could, because today, she was in the woman's office to get career advice.

What?

Aurora doubted that Professor McGonagall was certified to do this sort of thing, however she knew over the years that there were multiple incidents where the cat-woman surprised her.

"So, Lupin-Black," Professor McGonagall started, "I'm supposed to talk about potential careers you could obtain after graduating Hogwarts."

That's one of the things she liked about Professor McGonagall, she was one of the only teachers who addressed her by Lupin-Black, not just Black or not just Lupin. She was happy that at least one teacher recognized that that was, in fact, her last name.

Anyway, Aurora rolled her eyes at the older woman, "See, Minnie," she started, grinning cheekily, "I don't think it's really necessary for us to discuss this. I already have enough money from my father's side of the family to last me for much more than a lifetime."

Professor McGonagall looked at her sternly, "It's Professor McGonagall to you, Lupin-Black," she corrected, although the young girl knew that the Transfiguration teacher secretly liked it, "I don't care how much money you have, I still expect you to have a job once you leave Hogwarts."

Aurora mentally sighed, trying to prepare herself for the long speech the professor was about to give.

"You are a very smart young lady, Aurora, and I know that you have the potential to get any job as long as you continue to work hard. Many wizards see us witches as unemployed snobs who use their husband's money on parties and expensive wine. You need to show this generation, Aurora, that it is still possible to be a woman from a rich background but still have a respectable job within this community. I understand that you have a lot of money within your family, and that you may not know what career route to take at this point in time, however, "Professor McGonagall sighed, taking off her glasses to clean them with a cloth, "that is not a reason to come in here and tell me you will do nothing with your life other than bathe in your galleons."

Aurora gulped in silence.

Professor McGonagall reached into her desk, pulling out a folder, "I have come up with a few career options that I think you would greatly enjoy," the woman passed the folder to her, "I hope you will take the time to look at these, and I'll meet with you again in a couple weeks to discuss what route you may want to take."

The girl left the office with the folder.

I don't own Harry Potter. The series belongs to J.K. Rowling. I only own Aurora and anything you don't recognize from the books or movies.
