Tired

Aurora woke up from another restless sleep.

She'd been having nightmares for the past few weeks, and they never seemed to go away. Every night it was the same thing. Flashing lights, the killing curse, Cedric dropping to the floor, dead, and then a number.

Every night the number would change. Aurora couldn't figure out what the number meant, but it seemed to be a countdown for something.

What Aurora didn't know, was how important the number was.

She got dressed in her usual summer attire, jeans and a sweatshirt, paired with some fuzzy socks. After spritzing on some rose perfume, she walked downstairs to the kitchen to have some breakfast.

The girl was welcomed with the sight of her parents attempting to cook. She found it rather funny that Remus and Sirius were so bad at it, and considering she was too, she couldn't really pick on them about it.

Aurora sat in her usual spot at the kitchen table as she watched the two of them, tired but amused as they tried, but failed to make toast.

Aurora had to admit, it was strange at first when she went from having one parent to two, but she grew to love Sirius and it almost felt as if he was living with them all along. He ended up being just as protective as Remus, if not more.

Eventually Aurora couldn't hold in her laughs anymore and her parents noticed she was there.

As the small family ate their breakfast in silence, Remus and Sirius looked at their daughter in concern.

It was clear she was more tired than usual. She had huge bags under her eyes that would make Gucci shake.

Every night before Aurora went to bed, she would wandlessly cast the silencio charm on her room so that her parents couldn't hear her screams and cries at night. However, Remus was smarter than she thought, and when they first moved in when Aurora was a baby, he made sure that her room could be blocked from any spells cast on it.

He and Sirius both heard her every night, and wanted nothing more than to come to her aid and comfort her. But, they knew that she would tell them about her visions when she was ready. They were also scared of Aurora getting mad when she finds out that the charm didn't work. Neither of them liked a mad Aurora (It was clear she got both of their tempers).

Anyway, they both knew that she was brushing her tiredness off and attempting to ignore it, but even with Sirius only being back in her life for a few weeks, him and Remus knew her better than she knew herself.

The girl was scared of what the visions meant, but she knew that it could show the start of the second wizarding war.

I don't own Harry Potter. The series belongs to J.K. Rowling. I only own Aurora and anything you don't recognize from the books or movies.
