The next day, the Gryffindor's had their first potions and Defense Against the Dark Arts lesson. The Gryffindor's all walked to the cold, dark, dungeons.

"Sit," Snape drawled, sneering at the students. "Ahhh, let's split up the dream team, shall we?" he snarked when Ron, Hermione, Harry, and Aurora all sat at the same table. "Potter, Weasley, stay here. Granger, next to Longbottom. Black," he gave Aurora a look of loathing. "Next to Parkinson."

The students near Pansy Parkinson scooted their chairs away. Anyone who had met them knew that the two hated each other.

"Oh, Professor, I can't cut up my roots. My arm is brutally injured," Draco lied, smirking. He'd gotten his arm injured when he provoked a hippogriff in the first Care of Magical Creatures class.

"Weasley, cut Mr. Malfoys roots."

Ron snatched the blondes roots from his side of the table, chopping them feverishly. When he was done, he pushed them back towards the young Malfoy.

"Weasley's mutated my roots, sir," Draco complained.

"Weasley, switch roots with Malfoy."

"But, sir!" Ron protested (He'd spent the past half hour perfectly cutting his roots).

"Potter, shrivel my skin," Draco ordered. Harry, though not wanting to, did as he asked.

"The newspapers said that Sirius Black was spotted in Dufftown, Harry," Ron told him.

"Hm... that's not far from here," Draco said, butting into their conversations. "Thinking about catching him, Potter?"

"Yeah, that's right," said Harry offhandedly.

"Of course, if I were you, I would have done something about it by now."

"What do you mean?" Harry asked, getting irritated.

The Malfoy cocked an eyebrow. "You mean you don't know?"

"Know what?"

"Draco!" Aurora yelled at him. "Shut your fat mouth up!"

"Don't talk back to him Black!" Pansy Parkinson said to her. Aurora simply rolled her grey eyes, making a mental note to punch her later.

"Orange, Longbottom," Snape sneered when passing the boys potion. "Tell me, do you know how to do anything right?"

"Well, if you would just let me help him..." Hermione started.

"Silence! I don't want you showing off," the Potions Master yelled. "Longbottom is going to do this on his own. At the end of class we will test the shrinking potion on his filthy toad."

Neville mouthed 'help me' to Hermione, who looked at him in pity. Aurora could see from the other side of the room that Hermione was whispering him instructions out of the corner of her mouth.

At the end of class, everyone gathered around Professor Snape's desk.

"Now, we will see if Longbottom correctly concocted this potion." the Professor put a few drops on Trevor, Neville's toad, and there was a pop! sound, and he turned into a tadpole. The Gryffindor's clapped while the Slytherin's groaned.

"Five points from Gryffindor, I told you not to show off, Miss Granger. Class dismissed," Snape drawled.

"She didn't," Aurora mumbled.

"What was that?"

"You told Hermione not to show off. She wasn't showing off, she was helping her friend," Aurora explained.

"Detention on Saturday, Miss Black."

"That idiot! Why would he give Rory detention for telling the truth!" Ron exclaimed. "Wait... where's Rory?"
