Howls

Aurora had never been apart of a stranger group.

Remus and Ron volunteered to be chained to Peter so that he couldn't escape. The three of them led the way, followed by Sirius, Hermione, Harry, and Aurora.

When they got to the end of the tunnel, Aurora and Harry helped Ron sit on the ground to rest his leg.

Harry and Aurora both looked at Sirius, longing to talk to him. Hermione couldn't stand their silence anymore and spoke up.

"You can go talk to him, you know."

Harry looked to Aurora for permission to go (although he didn't need it). He didn't want to take time away from him and her father, however he really wanted to speak to the parental figure that would now be in his life.

Aurora nodded, knowing he wanted to speak with Sirius without her there. Growing up, she at least had Remus, while Harry had no one. "Go, talk to him. I need to stay here and help Ron with his leg anyway."

Harry stood up from his seat on the ground and walked over to the man, who was looking at the stars.

Aurora watched as she wrapped Ron's wound in some cloth she accioed from the castle. She was slightly jealous of Harry, wanting to be the one who was standing over there and bonding with Sirius, but she knew she shouldn't be.

Before Harry finished his conversation with Sirius and Aurora got a chance to talk to him, the clouds in the sky moved, and the full moon shone bright in the sky.

Before Aurora could even think about what was happening, she heard a howl coming from the person a few yards away from her.

Her papa was turning into a werewolf, and there wasn't anything she could do to help him.

"Back away!" Sirius yelled to his daughter and her friends urgently. He didn't want anyone to get hurt by what his husband had just turned into or worse, bitten. He knew from the look on Aurora's face- the same look Remus would constantly give- that she wanted to help, but decided to follow her fathers orders and hide behind the nearest tree.

Sirius turned into his Animagus form and began fighting with the werewolf. Aurora watched in fear, not wanting either of them to get hurt. The werewolf ran off into the woods, luckily in the opposite direction of where the Gryffinfour were. Sirius chased after him, although he was slower because he was limping in pain.

Without thinking (which was something Harry rarely did anyway, being reason 168 on Auroras list for why he wasn't sorted into Ravenclaw), Harry chased after Sirius.

That wasn't a surprise to Aurora, but what was was that Hermione followed him.

As much as Aurora wanted to run in the woods, late at night, while her stomach was cramping (note the sarcasm), she had to help Ron get back to Hogwarts and to the Hospital Wing.

The walk to the castle continued as howls were heard in the background.

I don't own Harry Potter. The series belongs to J.K. Rowling. I only own Aurora and anything you don't recognize from the books or movies.
