i stared at the file in front of us.
it was labelled 'avengers initiative preliminary report', and it was begging me to open it.
"that's it," i muttered to my dad. "if fury doesn't walk through that door in the next five seconds, i'm reading that."
"it's begging to be read," my dad agreed with me.
i counted down from five and before i even hit zero, my dad pulled it closer. unfortunately, fury walked in, and placed his hand on it.
"i don't think i want you looking at that. i'm not sure it pertains to you anymore," he turned his gaze over to me. "why is your daughter here, stark?"
"she goes where i go," he muttered. "it's how we work."
fury sighed, but pulled out another file, "this is agent romanoff's assessment of you. read it."
a moo was sounded in the background and i groaned.
"hera?" fury asked knowingly.
"mhmm," i looked at him, "how'd you know?"
"you're not the only demigod she has a problem with." he turned to my dad before i could grill him for information, "the report."
"uhh... personality overview. 'mr. stark displays compulsive behavior,'" my dad looked at fury, "in my own defence, that was last week."
"'prone to self-destructive tendencies.'" once again, my dad shrugged, "i was dying. i mean, please. aren't we all?"
"'textbook narcissism,'" my dad was silent for a few seconds, "agreed."
he skimmed through the file, "okay, here it is. 'recruitment assessment for avenger initiative. iron man? yes.' i gotta think about it," my dad said to fury.
"read on," the director of S.H.I.E.L.D. urged my dad.
"'tony stark not... not recommended?'" my dad and i shared a confused expression. "that doesn't make any sense. how can you approve me but not approve me? i got a new ticker. i'm trying to do right by pepper. i'm in a stable-ish relationship."
