and so we all stood to watch thor leave with loki.

thor grabbed the tesseract's containment unit, and loki grabbed onto the other end. thor gave us all a nod in respect, before twisting the handle, and activating the tesseract's power. the two of them disappeared in a flash of blue energy.

steve and my dad even shook hands before leaving.

"bye steve," i said, giving him a quick hug.

"bye, kiddo," he laughed.

"hey, you ever gonna tell me why you didn't like me?" i asked him.

"what?" he seemed shocked.

"i mean, at the start, you always seemed to avoid my gaze," i tried explaining, "and i don't know. i just felt like i had annoyed you somehow."

"oh no," steve shook his head, looking apologetic. "you just — you just reminded me of someone. you two look so similar, and you guys even act the same."

"someone from the 40s?" i asked. "who?"

"one of my friends," he shrugged. "becca."

i smiled, "i get that. it must've been weird talking to someone who looks so familiar, yet you've never met them."

"you know what that's like?"

i thought of luke as kronos, of all the demigods that were once my friends before they betrayed us, "to an extent."

"you know, you even have her freckles," he told me. "as a show of good faith, that shall be your new nickname. freckles."

"let's go freckles!" steve called from the doorway.

"i'm on my way!" rebecca said to him.

"hold up," i muttered, as i came out of the vision. "becca, as in.... rebecca?"
