percy pov

camp half-blood

as we crossed the commons area, a fight broke out between the ares and apollo cabins. some apollo campers armed with firebombs flew over the ares cabin in a chariot pulled by two pegasi. the same chariot they were fighting over.

soon, the roof of the ares cabin was burning, and naiads from the canoe lake rushed over to blow water on it.

then the ares campers called down a curse, and all the apollo kids' arrows turned to rubber. the apollo kids kept shooting at the ares kids, but the arrows bounced off.

sarah thompson and andromeda lune from the apollo cabin ran by, chased by an angry lea fay from the ares cabin who was yelling in poetry: "curse me, eh? i'll make you pay! / i don't want to rhyme all day!"

riley groaned. "not again. last time apollo cursed a cabin, it took a week for the rhyming couplets to wear off. this isn't going to end well."

"what are they fighting about anyway?" i asked.

she ignored me as she extended the score and circled a zero. recently, i've been finding myself looking at her, like right now.

her chocolate hair was pulled into a messy ponytail, some hairs falling loose from it. i think she recently cut her bangs because they didn't fit into her ponytail anymore. she was wearing a regular orange camp half-blood t-shirt, paired with white shorts. she unconsciously bit her lip as she drew the score. her eyes were trained intently on the sheet clipboard in her hands.

she didn't wear any more jewelry than usual. she had her bead necklace — with a brass rat around it, a necklace with a dove pendant — it was a gift from silena, gold rose earrings — a gift from me many years ago, a diamond ring — it changed into her bow and quiver, and her infinity bracelet — that luke gifted and turned into a dagger.
