i was annoyed.

and angry, and frustrated, and tired, and a little hungry.

percy tried to talk to me, but i would give him one-worded answers. he didn't care, he still asked me questions. i didn't want to talk to him. why couldn't he drill that in his head?

"how was your spring?" he asked.

"monster infested. i was in the lab a lot," i answered.

"why?"

"iron man suits," i answered.

"you helped build them?" he asked in awe.

"yes."

"what kind of monsters?"

"from hellhounds to old men in giant metal suits," i examined my nails.

"did you get anything from camp?" he asked.

"eh, i had to visit clarisse a few times." i told him.

"why?"

i shrugged, and looked out the window.

"what about nico?" he asked cautiously.

i frowned. nico was a demigod son of hades from the 1940s. he was a few years younger than me, eleven or so, and i unofficially officially adopted him. he was an adorable kid, who called mr. d 'the wine dude'. i was really upset when he left.

i shook my head.

"it's like, he just disappeared," i muttered.

"we'll find him," he tried to reassure me.

i pursed my lips, but didn't answer.

"how's your dad?" he asked me.

i leaned my head back. he announced to the world he was iron man two days ago. nick fury came to him about the avengers initiative, and things have just been weird. the publicity had really gone to his head this time.
