rebecca doesn't mourn anymore ( pt. 2 )
california
1950
rebecca stitched up the redhead's arm.
he hissed in pain as she closed the final stitches.
"there we go," she told jayden, helping him sit up. "all done. now, do you need help getting back to camp?"
"yes please," he accepted. "do you know where it is?"
"the one in oakland hills?" rebecca asked.
over the course of five years, she'd learned a lot more than what james told her. she doubted he even knew, so she didn't blame him.
but apparently, there was another camp. a roman camp, for roman half-bloods. as her journey took her west, she noticed the orange shirts changed to purple and some people had a tattoo on their forearm.
they were less trusting of her, but she didn't blame them.
"yeah, that one," jayden nodded at her. "camp jupiter."
"i can help you get there," rebecca told him, placing her supplies back in the car. she opened the passenger door, and motioned with her head, "hop on in."
it took a whole two days to get to camp jupiter, but thankfully there were no more monster attacks.
traffic, yes. but, she could deal with that.
rebecca assumed he was a child of a minor god, or even a legacy. the journey wasn't usually this easy.
"this is where i drop you off," she told him, parking the car. "just 'cross that highway, two sentries on duty. you'll make it in a few minutes."
"that's... it?" jayden asked, disbelief evident in his voice.
"that's it," rebecca assured.
jayden nodded slowly, and got out of the car.
