Meanwhile, for Zeda the night was also long.
The visions finally stopped but she was still cold, hungry, and still alone.
A storm had started outside, and rain could be heard showering the sides of the barn. The thunder rumbled and even shook the walls throughout the night.
Vince woke her in the early morning by slamming the door open and startling her.
"Good morning, sunshine." He smiled.
It was still raining profusely outside.
Zeda just rolled her eyes at him, while also worrying about what heinous things he had in mind. After pushing her off a ship, kidnapping her, and now keeping her locked in a decrepit old building, what else could he possibly do?
"I came over bright and early, I've got something to show you."
"Do you have any food?" She asked.
He ignored her.
"Vince." She said after he didn't reply and was just on his phone.
"No, I didn't bring you shit. I came to break your spirit furthermore and then leave and figure out my plan for you." He said bluntly.
Zeda's eyes widened. "You know you won't get away with this Vince."
He looked at her with an evil smirk. "Oh, I think I in fact will. We've already evaded the police with that phone call. The suspicion is gone, and your boys are probably headed back home right now." He let out a cheerful sigh, "All we have to do now is convince your parents."
She glared back at him. "They will never believe it."
He chuckled deviously, leaning down to meet her eye level.
"Even if they do, Lucas will come for me. I know it."
"Oh, really?" He said in disbelief.
"Yes." She said confidently.
She knew even if they couldn't make it themselves, they'd find some way to save her.
"Well, do I have something to show you." He chuckled, again looking at his phone.
"While we were waiting for you and your little friends to arrive in Savannah, I met a few girls, and I saw some things they were posting the other night that you might be interested in."
"Why the hell would I care?" She shook her head.
He turned the phone to her, and Zeda couldn't believe her eyes. She saw pictures of Lucas.
She reached her hand out, as if asking to hold the phone, and he accepted, placing it in her palm. She clicked on the first post to see it full sized.
"Looks like your little boyfriend got over you pretty quickly." Vince said while her eyes were glued to the phone.
It was a picture of Lucas walking into a bar with a giant sign that said, 'Ladies Night.'
The caption read, 'Look at this hottie that just walked into the bar! Ladies get down here!'
Zeda didn't think that was bad, girls finding him attractive. That was a given with his looks. She scrolled to the next post.
It was another one of Lucas, this time sitting at the bar and shaking his hair out, wet from the rain, and in the background, you could see all eyes glued to him. This had another caption telling girls to come to the bar and complimenting Lucas.
