We unloaded the delivery with a pep in our step, a fire beneath our feet and a spark in our hearts. Practically skipping while we carried the boxes around.
We almost reverted to children, giggling constantly, making silly jokes and repeatedly laughing over nothing, just from glancing at one another.
Setting the date really cemented things in for us, we were feeling more confident than ever.
After we spent a few weeks relaxing and doing nothing but loving each other, we returned home and started preparing everything for the ceremony.
We decided we'd have it on the ship, not only to save money but to make more beautiful memories on it, and my parents were going to fly out and stay with us to attend as well.
The girls and Winwin took me to pick out a dress which was a tiring process but ended up being a great bonding experience with them all. Of course, it was Winwin who chose the winning dress, too. It wasn't anything too extravagant or complicated. In his words it was, 'simple but elegant and beautiful, just like Zeda.'
I wasn't picky about what anyone else wore. I didn't care about matching dresses or colors, I just wanted to share our special moment with everyone we love. Every penny was out of Lucas's pocket, and despite him constantly telling me to do as I please, I still felt guilty, so I kept my budget low.
The girls decided to have semi coordinated outfits, all being different shades of blue, except for the hue of mine, which was Sapphire.
I never heard back from Lucas's parents, and neither did he. I was disappointed but tried to stay positive. Since talking about it, Lucas seemed a lot better. Whenever he felt down, he would come cuddle on me like he did that night, with him being the little spoon. I knew if his friends ever knew they'd roast him endlessly, but I thought it was endearing, and it melted my heart.
About a week before the event, all of us were on the ship getting things set up.
Winwin was decorating, wrapping the railings with little lights and tiny ornaments. Johnny was in the cabin deep cleaning while Lucas was constructing an arch on the deck for where we'd take our vows. It wasn't my idea. I didn't want to make him do all that work, but he insisted after he saw a picture of one in my book of inspiration.
