Johnny let me sleep in and came to wake me in the afternoon. He invited me to go out for breakfast with him and Winwin, and I agreed. With a headache and a nauseous stomach, I got dressed and wiped off my makeup from the day before.
When I got to the kitchen, I grabbed my phone from the drawer we had put them in and his was already gone. Mine was about to die, and there were no messages except my parents checking in with me. I lied to them, told them it went great and that everything was okay, when really, I felt like everything had fallen apart.
I was sitting at a stool with my elbows on the island, checking every app when Johnny came down the stairs. He looked disappointed I was already checking but he didn't mention it.
"So, I talked to Winwin." He said, and I gave him a look of surprise. "He said Lucas stormed out a few hours after you and I left."
"I mean ... that's good, right? That he left?"
Johnny hesitated. "He .... also said Biyu went out after him."
My spirits again dropped.
"Shouldn't I just leave them alone, Johnny? What should I do?"
"I think we should just see how things play out." He said and slid his phone into his pocket.
With that we left and picked up Winwin, and went out to a nice restaurant. We chatted about Lucas just about the entire time and I was confident he would come find me.
Low and behold, as we stepped out of the cab there was someone standing at his door with their back to us and a phone to their ear.
Johnny pulled out his phone that was now ringing, and on the screen in big lettering was 'LUCAS'.
The figure turned around and it was in fact him. I couldn't help but smile, but I was overall nervous. I didn't want him to have to abandon his entire family to be with me.
We all met him on the porch and Johnny gave him a stern look.
"Zeda, I'm so glad you're still here. I was worried they might be taking you to the airport." Lucas said, sounding relieved.

"Guys, can I have a minute alone out here?" He asked his friends.
After a few seconds of awkward hesitation, they obliged and headed inside, but stayed seated by the window just beside the door where they could see and hear everything.
"Zeda ... I can't even tell you how sorry I am."
I didn't know what to say so I waited for him to keep talking.
