When he picked it up, a woman told him that they called the number and got an answer and a location, that it was at Vince's house. They said they spoke to both Vince and Zeda, and that everything was fine. They told the boys to forget about it, and head back home.
The boys all looked confused and knew it was all a lie. That Vince must have once again done something to manipulate the situation.
Lucas took a step back and clutched his head, feeling dizzy and overwhelmed.
"Are you kidding me?" Johnny blurted out.
"No. This is serious." The woman said.
"So, no one's going to help her?" Winwin asked, waving his yellow gloves.
"Everything's fine. So, I'm gonna hang up now, it seems you've wasted enough of our time." She said and ended the call.
Johnny scoffed.
"I can about imagine how frustrated Zeda is. This man is so insane." Winwin said, shaking his head.
"What do we do?" Johnny asked.
Lucas was hunched over with his palms on his thighs, looking as if he was going to be sick.
"Are you okay?" Johnny asked him, walking to him and putting a hand on his back.
"Yeah." Lucas stood up.
"I'm fine." He shook it off and looked at the clock, it was already seven in the evening.
"What the hell do we do?" He said, sounding defeated.
"We have to ... find a way to track that phone and ... save her." Johnny said.
The other two nodded.
"I think I know a guy." Johnny said,
"Unfortunately, I just recently became on bad terms with him but ... maybe if we pay him enough, he'll do it."
"You know someone here who can do it? In America?" Winwin asked.
"It's Chaz."
Winwin sighed. "Wonderful."
"Who is Chaz?" Lucas asked.
"We can talk about it on the way. We should hurry." Johnny said.
Winwin looked down, realizing he still had on the cleaning gloves.
"Let me just finish this really quickly." He said and left to return to the bathroom.
Lucas was already on his phone attempting to get plane tickets.
They all got ready to leave and followed Johnny to where he thought Chaz would be. About a half an hour walk down the road from the ship was a strip club. The one they encountered before with Zeda.
"Johnny, why would you bring us here?" Lucas asked.
"Don't worry. I'll go in. I'll be right back." Johnny said and walked through the doors.
Winwin rolled his eyes.
*C* "Don't worry, I know where we can sit to wait." He said and led Lucas to the bench he and Zeda had sat on last time.
*C* "This has happened before?" Lucas asked.
No one had told him anything along the way and he had been distracted trying to get tickets anyways.
*C* "Yes, when we were looking for you the first time. When you went shopping in the middle of the night." Winwin told him.
*C* "Why did Johnny go in there?"
*C* "To look for you."
"Bullshit. I would never." Lucas laughed.
*C* "No really. That's why. But he returned fairly quickly."
*C* "Wasn't it raining?" Lucas asked.
Winwin nodded.
Lucas felt even more guilty now, having been so horrible towards Zeda in their last moments together.
"Or we could leave tonight." He heard himself say. And envisioned her face drop into sadness.
"And how do I know he hasn't gotten into yours?" She again looked discouraged and broken.
The same things were circulating inside Zeda's head too at that moment.
