As of posting this 8/29/21 - I'm worried my reads are going to plateau with Lucas's controversy going on right now. Which in my opinion is no controversy at all because like 99% of it has be debunked as fake. So, if you're a real one and are still here, thank you. Cuz he literally did nothing wrong.

Also, a quick reminder in regard to this part, no family members are meant to represent the idols actual family. No disrespect is meant to anyone.

My world was crumbling before my eyes. All my bad feelings were right, and I shouldn't have come here.

"I haven't told them yet, Zeda." Lucas admitted. "I don't mean to make excuses but, I have barely even left my house since I've been back. I've been in a bad place after ... I mean, almost dying." He sighed. "I haven't seen them until today and they told me they had good news. That must be what they're going to announce now."

I hesitated for a long time.

"You don't think the good news is going to involve you and her?"

He too waited a long time to respond.

"That's what I was afraid of." He said quietly.

"Do you wanna go back inside?" I asked him.

He sighed. "I suppose I kind of have to. He's already going to be upset about the scene we caused."

"Why does it matter so much?"

"I should have known just from walking in. They invited all of the elders in our family and in Biyu's, and all of their successful friends. If I embarrass them, it will reflect on them really badly."

"So, you can't introduce me?"

He shook his head. "Not here."

I sighed.

"So, I'm supposed to just hang out at your engagement party?"

"I don't know if that's what this is. It could just be a welcome home party for me."

I agreed to disagree, and we headed back inside.

He again held the door for me, but he seemed to keep his distance from me on the way back.

"Hey, is everything okay?" He asked us, but Lucas kept walking, so I did too.

He stood up straight. "Hey." He called.

I stopped momentarily and motioned for him to follow us.

Winwin, Hua and Biyu were in the same place as before.
