His eyes slowly fell closed, and Zeda began to sob over him.

"No ..." She cried.

Winwin moved her hands aside and still tried to apply more pressure to his wound in hopes to save him. But Johnny stepped in and felt for a pulse and couldn't find one. They could now hear the sirens far away in the distance.

"Zeda, I think this is the part when you get out of here." Johnny told her sternly, warning her that what she might see is scarring.

He placed his hands in formation to begin CPR on him. But Zeda was still next to Lucas holding his hand with hers.

"I can't leave him." She pleaded, but Johnny grew more stern, losing precious time in hopes to spare her of the sight.

"Zeda, go." He demanded.

She had never heard a tone like that from him, but just did as he said and sulkily took her hands away, carefully taking the box from him.

Johnny started the compressions, and Zeda slowly walked out of the barn, passing Vince's unconscious body.

She was in shock, clutching the box to her chest and trying to remember how to breathe.

Silent tears streamed down her cheeks as she stepped down onto the dirt and the breeze swept her hair around her.

She fell to her knees, and just sobbed relentlessly.

Winwin came to her side, putting an arm around her and not saying a word, just being her shoulder to cry on.

When help finally arrives, Vince and Lucas are put onto gurneys and taken away in ambulances.

The remaining four were all explaining to police what had happened. And for once ... they were being listened to and believed.

They were taken to the police station to record their testimonies, and then as they all sat in a room together at a round table, a man entered and gave them relieving news. He told them they were to be escorted to the hospital.

Lucas was alive, but still in intensive care and in critical condition.

They arrived there and found out they weren't even able to go into his room, they were only allowed to see him from his window in the hall.

He was still unconscious, in some kind of comatose and the boys only stayed briefly, saying it was too difficult to see their friend that way. Zeda understood but decided to stay while the others left to sit in the waiting room.

There wasn't much to do but watch his chest rise and fall, and his heart rate projected on the machines around him. But it gave her comfort to see he was alive. Safe. In good care. And maybe somehow, he would know she was there for him.

She placed her palm onto the glass, against the nurse's orders but no one was around.

She sighed, and everything was peaceful for an instant, until she was startled by a loud bang from behind her.

She slowly turned and what she saw was pure nightmare fuel.

Vince stood in the room behind her with his palm on the glass of his window, blood smearing as he slowly dragged it down the iridescent glass, revealing his hideously deformed and beaten face stained with a smile.

"You." He growled, and Zeda stood frozen in fear.

She looked behind him and saw the array of chords around the room, and then heard the loud alarm, alerting the nurses that his heart had stopped, when really he had ripped out every tube and monitor they put on him.

She gulped loudly and was unnerved, not knowing what he was capable of in his state.

Before she even had time to react or run, he leaped for the door and burst it open, running into the hall and attacking her. He tackled her to the ground and swiftly got his hands around her throat.

"You. This is all your fault." He groaned, gripping tightly as Zeda struggled and was beginning to choke.

"I killed your little boyfriend, and now I'll kill you, too. For sure this time."

"You will never escape me. I will haunt you for the rest of your life."

Zeda was panicking internally, trying her hardest to scratch him or grab at his face but to no avail.

"You are mine." He said slowly as her eyes began to feel heavy.

Finally, he was yanked away by a male nurse and Zeda was quickly taken into a separate room to make sure everything was okay.

Afterwards she was advised to go home, and the other boys were told to wait elsewhere until Lucas woke up ... if he would ever wake up.

He was going to be transferred to a hospital in Savannah, to be closer to their ship when they left.

They all left together in a cab, first dropping off the boys at the airport.

"Well," Chaz said, holding the passenger side door open. "It's been .... not fun ... and I hope I never see you again. Goodbye." He said to Zeda in the backseat, and then closed the door.

They all just laughed.

"We will be sure to keep in touch, Zeda." Winwin said before they exited the cab.

"Yeah, as soon as they call us, we'll call you

"Yeah, as soon as they call us, we'll call you." Johnny added and patted her on the back.

But she dove in for a hug, worried she might not see the boys for a long time

But she dove in for a hug, worried she might not see the boys for a long time. She hugged Johnny and then Winwin on her opposite side.

"Goodbye you guys." She sniffled.

"Don't worry, Zeda." Winwin reassured her.

And then she was left alone in the cab.

She returned to her parents' house and again explained everything, and they went to collect her things from Vince's house once and for all.
