Finally, many hours after everyone except Lucas was asleep again, Zeda began to stir. He hadn't slept for a second, eagerly waiting for her to wake.

He quickly turned to her. She groaned and clutched her head, feeling a heavy pounding in the center of it. Her eyes eased open slowly and she looked at the ceiling. She realized she was back in the barn. Vince had found her and brought her back.

Although she couldn't recall how she passed out, feeling the pain radiating through her body she knew it wasn't a natural slumber.

Then when she turned and saw Lucas sitting beside her with no shirt on, she truly thought it was another apparition, because they had been growing more realistic. Now they looked completely human.

He was lying beside her with his head near the wall, turned to face her.

She tried to face him, but realized her wounds were still there, and were very real

She tried to face him, but realized her wounds were still there, and were very real. The pain brought her back to reality for a brief moment.

She groaned in pain, looking down at herself, seeing all her injuries and how much mud and blood covered her.

"Am I dead?" She asked softly, turning her head to Lucas as a single tear drifted down her cheek.

The other boys heard her and sat up in their spots.

Seeing her again, seeing her looking at him, hearing her voice, Lucas was overwhelmed with emotion. She was alive.

"No, baby." He said, shaking his head with a bright smile, as tears shed down his face.

He cupped her cheek with his palm, sitting over her.

She sighed. "You guys keep saying whatever you want now, huh?" She said with a sniffle, thinking she was talking to her hallucination.

Lucas backed away the slightest bit, off put by her response.

"You're supposed to say, 'No miss'" She told him.

The other boy's eyes grew wide, wondering what the hell she was talking about.

Lucas let out a small laugh, knowing what she meant but wondering why she was saying it as she was.

"Yes. I'm sorry." He again smiled through the tears that escaped.

"So, am I dead?" She asked again, wanting his embrace to comfort her before Vince returned again.

She wanted him to take her into his arms like he did on the raft and hold her and tell her everything was alright.

"No, Miss." Lucas told her, laying down next to her and putting an arm around her, holding her close but being careful as to not hurt her wounds.
