Chapter 29
It happened to be another three days before Balan and Lilith took their leave. And Chaos couldn’t have been any more pleased when he heard of their departure. He could stop walking on eggshells and leave this prison that was the gothic cathedral.
It had been a long three days full of “chance” encounters with the raven haired fallen-angel; Lilith. Chaos shivered at the thought of one of their conversations...
He had rounded the corner and entered his room in a huff to find her lounging casually on his bed. She was laying on her side, one arm propping up her head. Sleek long legs stretched out and her dressed was askew giving him full view of her creamy calfs. Her free hand rested gently upon her thigh and she smirked as he appraised her.
“How did you get in here?” Chaos asked blandly crossing his arms over his chest.
“It was such a weak enchantment on the door and I was so curious...I couldn’t help myself..” She pouted “You’re not upset with me are you?...” Slowly she bit her full bottom lip.
He lifted one sculpted brow in her direction in response she patted the bed next to her. “Sit with me?” Chaos remained unmoved.
“You’re just like your father!” She let out a puff of air in defeat. “No emotion.”
Bristling at being compared to his father he felt the air turn thick around him with his own anger but quickly reined it back in.
“You know...I’ve heard some things on the wind about you and a mortal...” Her eyes were wide with innocence. “Is that why you wont play with me?”
Chaos swallowed his shock and work to keep his face expressionless. “The wind always lies.” He fired back.
“That may be true...but I couldn’t help my ears peaking up at gossip...about Lucifers son no doubt. You’re very rarely mentioned, some don’t even know Lucifer has a son.” Thoughtfully she was twirling a raven curl around her finger
“You know what happened to the last fallen-angel to mess around with humans don’t you?” She pushed her hair behind her back reveling her swollen breasts barely being contained by her silver dress.
Chaos’s breathed became heavy and all he could do was shake his head “no.” Lilith’s mouth twisted in a sinister grin and she drew a line across her neck with a pointed finger. “Dead.”
“Serves Kael right.” She shrugged not knowing the turmoil she was causing in his brain.
“Please get out.” Chaos closed his eyes and worked to keep his anger in check.
“So rude.” Lilith giggled seductively.
Just then Balan came waltzing into the room, just as stern and strong looking as ever. “Lilith.” He reached the bed and placed his hands on his hips.
“Yes?” She looked up at him through dark thick lashes and pursed her lips together. They remained locked in each others gaze for quite some time and the air swamp with thick emotions.
Without another word Balan quickly scooped Lilith off the bed and into his arms. “Time to stop bothering the Prince.” He stated simply and began making his way towards the door.
“You big lout!” Lilith beat at his chest with her fists and all he did was smile warmly down at her. Before making it out the door his blue eyes flickered at Chaos “Excuse us your highness.” He inclined his head and disappeared taking Lilith with him.
The conversation had rocked him to the core. He had never even heard of the fallen-angel named Kael and he knew all of them...or so he thought. He had to investigate it further but he also had to collect all the neglected souls.
“A quick stop by Dawne to see how she is doing first.” He mentally decided in his head, making her top priority. “Then souls...then once I’m sure my father is asleep I will sneak into his private library.” There had to be something there about this Kael person.
