Chapter 39

Dawne floated in complete darkness, her thoughts were sluggish and overly simplistic. All she could think was that she was tired and right now she must be sleeping. An unearthly warmth was about her and any panic had quickly vanished.

All of a sudden the darkness grew lighter and lighter. It was gray...gray like the color of Chaos’s eyes...

Chaos.

Where was she? Where was he?

All of a sudden fire ignited in the pit of her stomach and began to spread wildly throughout her limbs. The limbs she previously hadn’t felt before.

Every part of her was burning now and she wanted to scream but her mouth wouldn’t open.

“What’s happening to me?!” Dawne screamed in her brain.

“Open your eyes.” The voice came from the darkness around her, it was slow, calculating and sinister.

Dawne struggled to get her eyes open but it was no use.

“I can’t.” She cried weakly in her mind.

More fire and sparks were produced throughout her body and this time she heard herself scream aloud.

“Ahhh! It hurts please stop!” She implored the voice that was now “tsk-ing” impatiently.

Finally her eyelids flung open not of their own accord and she fought a bought of dizziness.

She felt nauseous as bright light hit her open eyes and when she tried to close them they just opened wider.

The feeling was horrendous, it felt as though her eyeball would come out of the socket. Then her eyelids twitched violently as everything began to loose focus.

Air was hitting her eyes and making them water, soon her cheeks were wet with tears.

“There now. Your eyes are open.” The slow cruel voice filtered up to her.

“Stop! Stop!” Dawne’s throat felt raw and dry as she plead.

Suddenly she felt her eyelids drop heavily causing more tears to disperse but she reveled in the feeling.

After a few seconds she cracked open an eyelid to glance around. Straight in front of her was a curved stone wall with thousands of tiny strange markings.

“Strange.” She thought to herself as she looked a little to her right and noticed there was a window at hip level.

Suddenly it occurred to her to look down.

“AHHH! Put me down!” Dawne screamed out as she looked at the huge 15 foot drop below her.

She tried to wiggle her legs but they remained immobile underneath her, same went for her arms. They were sprawled straight out to her sides.

Dawne floated in invisible chains in the perfect form of an X right above a giant blood red throne.

“It’s so nice of you to visit me...Dawne...”

She glanced towards the throne once more and noticed its occupant. He was thinner with a with a sharp serious nose and long dark eyes. His hair was stick straight and hung lifelessly past his shoulders. Even his skin was a deep almost sickly pink as if to imitate a sun-kissed appearance. But Dawne knew very well that this man had never been touched by the sun... because he was a fallen angel.

Her eyes traveled upwards to the gruesome wings that were flung out on either side of him. They were scraggly and terrifying, held together by corse bone. Few feathers remained on the skeleton and they hung limply.

“Who are you?!” Dawne spat trying to keep the fear from her voice.

The mans deep laughter filled and bounced off the stone walls around her making it even more menacing.

“You insult me.” He added with an amused sneer then rose from his throne.

“Why, I am Lucifer.”

Hello my lovelies! I'm so sorry I have not posted in a while, I've been dealing with a lot of school work! Not to mention I've been a little disheartened at some rude commenter on my stories so I lost the will to write. But I've gained it again and I'll try not to take any further long breaks from uploading!

Sorry again,

Miisaki <3
